Curtiba: Seat Take a Strong 1-2 in Race 1 + Results


BMW had to settle for best of the rest behind Seat

SEAT Sport drivers Yvan Muller and Rickard Rydell held off the BMW Team Germany's attack of Augusto Farfus and Jorg Muller, to win the first race in Curitiba.

Crowd: 45,000 over the weekend

On the day of his 46th birthday Gabriele Tarquini gave himself an outstanding present by winning the second race in Brazil and also got his payback for helping out his team-mates (Yvan Muller, who leaves Brazil as the championship co-leader with Tarquini, and Rickard Rydell) in the first race.

At the end of the first morning testing in Le Castellet, no problem for drivers who took the wheel. We can note three cars returned to their stands after accidents and the best time for the Audi n° 1 of Mc Nish.

The first day of the 2008 Le Mans series heralded perfect weather conditions for the contenders who took part in the now traditional pre- season test at the Paul Ricard High Tech Test facility in southern France. For many teams it was the first time that they ran their new cars against their season-long competitors, and for some, it was the first time that the cars ran at all.
