Speedcar Race 2 Results - Alzen Takes His Second Victory

Uwe Alzen scored his second Speedcar victory in the Sunday morning race at Sepang, having already won the second 'reverse grid' event at Sentul. The German touring car veteran chased early leader David Terrien, and eventually found his way past.

Henri Zogaib and Ryan Dalziel will team up for Samax Motorsport for round two of the Rolex Sports Car Series season and the GAINSCO Grand Prix at Homestead Miami Speedway March 27-29.

Moreau and Langin Dominate in VdeV GT Race


The diversity of the cars entered at the start of this season demonstrates the continuing enthusiasm for this new challenge. Cars in the GTV2 category are taking over and new categories will be introduced as from the Val de Vienne event.

The competitors in this Challenge are continually investing in order to create their own category with increasingly fine cars. Poleman in the Porsche 996 RSR of the Polybaie team which he shares with B. Moreau, M. Langin seems to have got to grips with handling the reigning champion car.

Norma Take the Win in VdeV Prototype Race

This season-opener was the occasion to once again see the new models entered by the traditional constructors and by the newcomers. Top in the discipline, Norma was making its new model with the 2008 Norma M20F campaigned by many teams alongside Ligier with its aerodynamic upgrade to the JS49 for Julien Schell and comeback-man David Caussanel.

The reigning champion constructor, British firm Juno had made no upgrades whereas compatriot Chiron unveiled a car which did not meet the regulations making it ineligible for a placing. Austrian constructor PRC caused a sensation by taking pole position thanks to Pierre Kaffer putting his experience to good use. Unfortunately, the car was subsequently smitten by many problems and had to abandon, but nevertheless gave owner-driver, Dutchman Mirco Schultis satisfaction.

Ferrer and Mahé's Lola T70, still very fast and capable of short-distance wins, was also strong throughout the 8-hour race and showed its new-found reliability, giving its rivals something to think about for the rest of the season.

CR Scuderia could not have asked for a better debut race

Paddy Shovlin and Michael Cullen stormed to victory at Oulton Park today, taking the first win of the 2008 British GT season and the first victory for the CR Scuderia team. The Irish pair drove a faultless race and took a thoroughly deserved victory in a race that was shortened due to some on-track dramas.
