Pole, Fastest Lap and Podium for Simonsen at Oulton Park

Fresh from his American Le Mans Series debut, where he finished a creditable fourth in the busy GT2 class, Danish/Aussie sportscar ace Allan Simonsen, has his hands full again on the otherside of the world.

Only a few days previously he was in sunny Florida – yet the Oulton Park circuit in the English countryside was anything but, with snow flurries and heavy rain. It's like everything was in reverse as Simonsen slid into his race car for the Easter opening round of the 2008 British GT Championship.

N.Technology's next on-track appearance will be at the FIA World Touring Car Championship's (WTCC) official testing session on 15 and 16 April in Valencia, Spain, followed by the team's racing season debut a month later at the Spanish track.

It has been five years since Audi's Frank Biela raced on a street circuit in the American Le Mans Series. Coincidentally, his return to the Series next week in the Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg presented by XM Satellite Radio takes place in the same state as his last street race (Miami in 2003). Biela's history of street races in the Series is admirable: two victories, five podiums, two pole positions and two fastest race laps in six starts.
