As the last chance for the drivers to square up to each other before the battle begins in earnest, these Eurocup Megane Trophy collective testing sessions, held at the Paul Ricard HTTT, provided the teams with the ideal opportunity to check the final adjustments to their setups. In a repeat of proceedings at Barcelona, Michaël Rossi (TDS) bagged the fastest time ahead of Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing). Under such changeable conditions, it was however difficult to draw any clear conclusions about how the standings might pan out over the course of the season. Spa-Francorchamps will be the judge of that!

When DTM Champion Mattias Ekström returns to Hockenheim with Audi for the season opener on 13 April, this will evoke special memories. It is the venue where the Swede won the season-opening race last year and in the finale on the 4.574-kilometre circuit secured the title in one of the most thrilling races in the history of the DTM. The first race of the 2008 season will be broadcast live on "Das Erste" on Sunday, starting at 1:45 p.m. (local time).

It only took 14 races, including just two with a Ferrari F430 GT, for Tafel Racing to post its first victory in the American Le Mans Series. Dirk Mueller and Dominik Farnbacher drove to a GT2 win in the Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg as Tafel became the 11th different entrant to win in the highly competitive class, one that features 11 different full-time entrants.

The Streets of St Petersburg was the first of the ALMS street fights for 2008. Typically, it saw its fair share of the action with a seemingly trademarked ALMS close finish.

Catalunya was the first Le Mans Series race that saw the might of the Diesel factories competing against each other in a 1000km race.
