Okayama: XANAVI NISMO GT-R Qualifies on Pole

The qualifying for the Okayama GT 300km, Round 2 of the 2008 AUTOBACS SUPER GT, was held at the Okayama International Circuit (one lap 3.703 km) in Okayama Pref. on April 12. The XANAVI NISMO GT-R driven by Benoit Treluyer won the pole position as the fastest qualifier in the GT500 class and will start from the front row in the final race on the 13th.

Dubai: Herbert Takes Race 1

The 2008 Speedcar Series comes to a climax this weekend during the Grand Racing weekend at Dubai Autodrome. Friday (11 April) saw the running of the first of two races in this weekend’s action packed bill with the matter of the Championship to be decided between Frenchman Jean Alesi, Germany’s Uwe Alzen and Dubai based Frenchman David Terrien.

Dubai: Herbert Wins Again To Take First Speedcar Title

Johnny Herbert scored his second race victory of the weekend at the Dubai Autodrome on Saturday to seal the inaugural Speedcar Series title.

Herbert actually ended the season level on points with David Terrien, but scored more wins than the Frenchman throughout the season. Title rivals Uwe Alzen and Jean Alesi, who both started the event in stronger points positions, both suffered crashes that put them out of the championship reckoning.

Hockenheim: Mercedes Qualifying Recap - Spengler Third, Schumacher Struggles

Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG C-Class) will start the season opener of the 2008 DTM at Hockenheim on Sunday third on the grid. From the front row will start Timo Scheider from pole position and Mattias Ekstrom with their Audis. Spengler qualified with a time of 1m33.034 and was the fastest Mercedes-Benz driver. Next to him on the second row will start Paul di Resta (AMG Mercedes C-Class); in his first qualifying for the HWA team, the Scotsman was on a 1m33.075, 41 thousandths of a second behind his team mate Spengler. Jamie Green (Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Class) was sixth with a 1m33.418.

Ingolstadt/Hockenheim – Impressive début for the new Audi A4 DTM: Timo Scheider (Germany) and Mattias Ekström (Sweden) set the best lap times by a wide margin in Saturday’s qualifying for the DTM opening race at Hockenheim. This puts two of the new Audi A4 DTM cars on the front row of the grid for the race that is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Knockhill: Another Win for CR Scuderia!


CR Scuderia are having dream run in their first year

Jeremy Metcalfe and Luke Hines took a fantastic victory at Knockhill today in round three of the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship. Metcalfe set up the race win with pole position in the first of today’s qualifying sessions; he then kept the lead at the start, drove a mature race and handed over to Luke Hines who finished the job off beautifully, taking the pair’s first win of the year.
