Okayama: XANAVI NISMO GT-R Starts Season with Consecutive Victories!


Motoyama and Treluyer would overcome the field by the end

The Okayama GT 300km Race, Round 2 of the 2008 AUTOBACS SUPER GT, was held at the Okayama International Circuit (one lap 3.703 km x 82 laps) in Okayama Pref. on April 13 and Satoshi Motoyama and Benoit Treluyer drove the XANAVI NISMO GT-R to a second consecutive victory, following their win in the season opener.

Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG C-Class) finished the 2008 DTM season opener in fourth place and was the best C-Class driver.

Jamie Green (Salzgitter AMG Mercedes C-Class), winner of the previous DTM race here in Hockenheim in October 2007, ended up sixth ahead of Gary Paffett (stern AMG Mercedes C-Class) and Bernd Schneider (Genuine Parts AMG Mercedes C-Class). Paffett was the best driver with a last year's car. Thus, four Audis and four Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars finished in the points.

Jeremy Metcalfe and Luke Hines (#16 CR Scuderia) won the first British GT race held at Knockhill since 2005, finishing Round 3 of the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship ahead of the Dodge Vipers of James Gornall and Jon Barnes (#40 Team Trimite Brookspeed) and Aaron Scott and Craig Wilkins (#20 ABG Motorsport), a race that had four safety car periods.

Knockhill: Ascari Takes First GT3 Win in British GT + Results

Godfrey and David Jones won their first British GT race for three years, taking the chequered flag in the Team Eurotech Preci Spark Ascari KZ1R in a dramatic second Avon Tyres British GT race at Knockhill, the first GT3 win for an Ascari in British GT. The brothers from Leicestershire finished ahead of the Christians in Motorsport Ferrari of Hector Lester and Allan Simonsen and the 22gtracing Aston Martin DBRS9 of Adrian Willmot and Michael Bentwood. Matt Nicoll-Jones and Stewart Linn won the GT4 class, extending their championship lead ahead of the next races at Rockingham.
