Valencia: A Breif WTCC History at the Circuit


The Alfa Romeos always did well at Valencia but will not return in 2008

The 5th and 6th rounds of the FIA WTCC will take place in Spain, at Valencia's Circuit Ricardo Tormo on May 17th and 18th. This is the fifth consecutive visit of the FIA Touring Cars to the Spanish stadium-like racetrack.

A Quick Rundown of the WTCC Oschersleben Tests

SEAT Sport's Yvan Muller set the fastest time in the official test at Oschersleben on Tuesday and Wednesday. With a lap of 1:35.227 clocked on Wednesday afternoon, the Frenchman managed to beat Robert Huff's fastest time of 1:35.324 from the previous day. Most of the drivers who took part in the test were able to be faster than last year's pole position set by Alain Menu's Chevrolet at 1:36.291.

Touring Car Bureau Limit TDI Engine Speed


The Seat Leon TDI cars will be rev-limited from now on

The Touring Car Bureau have issued a decision to limit the engine speed of the SEAT León TDI cars. From the next event in Valencia and until further notice, the engine speed of the turbo-diesel SEAT cars will be limited to 4100 revs per minute.

Patrick Dempsey Entered In Sahlen's Six Hours Of The Glen

The entry list for the upcoming Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen has a name that both non-race and race fans alike should know – Patrick Dempsey. The popular actor is scheduled to compete in the GT class of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Race on Saturday, June 7 at 11:15 AM. Dempsey was entered to compete at The Glen in 2007 as part of the KONI Challenge Series but withdrew at the last second due to a conflict associated with a movie he was shooting for SONY.

That's the $64,000 question as American Le Mans Series teams ready themselves for the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by the Grand and Little America Hotels. For the first time, the field will compete on the 3.048-mile, 15-turn perimeter circuit at Miller Motorsports Park for the fourth round of the 2008 season. And indeed, some in the paddock believe this will be the fastest venue in Series history.
