Vauxhall and Onslow-Cole would have the run of the weekend

Tom Onslow-Cole has won the first of today’s three HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship rounds at the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire.

Vauxhall driver Onslow-Cole, this weekend celebrating his 21st birthday, lost his pole position advantage at the start to the Team Halfords Honda of Gordon Shedden.

* Paul Di Resta (AMG Mercedes C-Class) won the fourth round of the 2008 DTM at the Lausitzring; his first win in the championship in his 14th DTM race. Following the 1-2 victory of Jamie Green and Paul Di Resta in Mugello two weeks ago, it was the second consecutive win for Mercedes-Benz within two weeks this year and 143rd for the brand out of 304 DTM/ITC races since 1988. After four races of the 2008 season, Mercedes and Audi are tied on victories with two each.

Ingolstadt/Klettwitz -- Extension of the the lead and reduction of weight: in front of 80,000 spectators at the DTM's fourth round at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, Audi created an ideal starting base for its home race at the Norisring. Timo Scheider as the runner-up extended his lead of the standings. The compact Audi team performance in the Lausitz region was completed by Mattias Ekstrom and Martin Tomczyk in places three and four.

TOOELE, Utah (May 18, 2008) – Jason Saini, of Fort Worth, Texas, led every lap en route to his maiden SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship win Sunday at Miller Motorsports Park, part of the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix Presented by the Grand and Little America Hotels weekend. Pierre Kleinubing, of Coconut Creek , Fla. , and Kuno Wittmer, of Montreal , Quebec , completed the top three.

Three races, three victories for the Ford GT

Reigning British GT champions Alex Mortimer and Bradley Ellis have been reunited this year, to race the No.21 Matech GT Racing Ford GT in the FIA GT3 European Championship. They avoided the mayhem in the early laps of the first race at Monza, and managed to outpace their rivals, to take victory; they took the lead of the race with nine laps remaining and then eased off to the chequered flag.

The second round of the 2008 FIA GT Championship saw victory go to Belgian team SRT, with their Corvette C6-R. Second in qualifying in the wet, triple FIA GT Champion Christophe Bouchut and his team-mate Xavier Maassen, from the Netherlands, took a fine win in Monza today.

With all the focus at Miller Motorsports Park on the new de Ferran Motorsports Acura entry, Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas did what they do best - win in the American Le Mans Series for Penske Racing and Porsche. The duo took a hard-fought victory Sunday in the Larry H. Miller Dealerships Utah Grand Prix presented by the Grand and Little America Hotels.

With 24 Hours of Le Mans only a few short weeks away, speculation about the field is increasing and the one car that seems to be giving the most room for conversation is the Racing Box Lucchini.
