CR Scuderia are back on form at Rockingham

James Sutton and Michael Meadows put their Knockhill nightmares behind them by taking a podium finish at Rockingham today. The British pair started the race from sixth place after the Lamborghinis and Vipers showed their new pace in qualifying after a recent performance break.

James Gornall and Jon Barnes became the latest winners in the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship as the Team Trimite Brookspeed Viper Competition Coupe took the chequered flag ahead of the Team Modena Lamborghini of Adam Jones and Piers Johnson. James Sutton and Michael Meadows were a distant third in the CR Scuderia Ferrari. Stewart Linn and Matt Nicol-Jones won the GT4 class, just pipping the Ginetta of Rob Austin and Hunter Abbott at the finish line by just 0.697 seconds.

New strong performance of Matech GT Racing, still ahead in the championship !

After two wins in the opening weekend of the ADAC GT Masters, the German GT3 Championship, Matech GT Racing only entered one Ford GT in the second meeting of the year at the Nürburgring. The races were held during the weekend of the mythic 24 Hours of the Ring. “We didn’t find a final agreement yet for our second car for the remaining of the season”, explains Martin Bartek, team manager of the Swiss team. “One of our cars was heavily damaged in Monza last week, so we didn’t want to take any risks at all. We hope to finalize a deal before the third meeting of the series that will take place on the Norisring on June the 27, 28 and 29.”
