Silverstone: Martin Takes Pole in Both Sessions

Penalized for failing to slow down when the yellow flags were brought out, Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS), have been stripped of the pole positions they were initially awarded, to the benefit of Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS). The Belgian driver will now start from pole in both the weekend's races.

In a race full of incident, poleman Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) came out on top for the first time this season. When Michaël Rossi (TDS) ran out of fuel in the closing stages, Bernhard Ten Brinke (Equipe Verschuur) and Sébastien Dhouailly (Team Lompech Sport) took full advantage to secure their places alongside Martin on the podium.

(June 7, 2008) – Peter Cunningham, of Milwaukee, Wis., scored his 31st-career SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge pole position, his first since 2005, and will lead the SCCA SPEED Touring Car field at the standing start of Sunday’s Round Six race at Watkins Glen International. Pierre Kleinubing, of Coconut Creek , Fla. , will start second.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (June 8, 2008) – Randy Pobst, of Gainesville , Ga. , will start Sunday’s SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT race from pole at Watkins Glen International. Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton , Fla. , will start second for the Round Four race, part of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen weekend.

Le Mans: Porsche Customer Teams Aim for Class Victories


The Van Merksteijn Porsche will have the pace if all the variables fall into line

Stuttgart. The Porsche customer teams are well prepared for the highlight of the sports car racing season. They contest the Le Mans 24 hour race (France) on 14/15 June with a total of five racing vehicles: two Porsche RS Spyder and three Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Bringing the pair of RS Spyder to the classic are the teams of Van Merksteijn Motorsport (Netherlands) and Essex (Denmark), after having already won the first three rounds of the Le Mans Series (LMS) this season. The 476 hp Weissach-built sports prototype experiences a double premiere in Le Mans in front of an anticipated 200,000 spectators. It is its first race over 24 hours and the first time on this historic circuit.
