Dubai: Matech Looking to Steal the Drivers Title at Final Round


Matech have the Team's Championship under control

The final round of the European FIA GT 3 Championship is taking place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th December in the United Arab Emirates, and being held on the 5,3 km long Dubai Autodrome. A final which most probably will result in a first crown for the Matech GT Racing team, presently cheerily calling the tune on the teams’ front, as they are some 26 points ahead of the closest rivals.

Tight racing has provided a tight title battle

The third season of the FIA GT3 European Championship has provided some thrilling racing over the five events held so far – and it’s not over yet. Both the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles are still to be decided as the participants head for the Dubai Autodrome, with seven drivers hoping to be crowned champions – five (or possibly six) of them will be leaving disappointed. The whole weekend will revolve around which of the contenders manages to shrug off the pressure, stay clear of trouble in the opening laps and claim the title.

Le Mans Test Days Cancelled


The Le Mans Test Days have been cancelled due to the global economic crisis

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest always listens attentively to the manufacturers’ needs, and so in agreement with teams that may be invited to the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours, the Club, remaining faithful to its firmly-held objective to reduce costs, has taken the decision to cancel the test day scheduled for 31st May 2009, and to rethink the format of the Le Mans Series events.
