Ingolstadt/Zandvoort – The DTM continually attracts actor Moritz Bleibtreu ("Knockin’ on Heavens Door", Run Lola run", "Munich"). This time, the 36-year-old film star visited Audi during the horsepower spectacle in the Dutch North Sea dunes at Zandvoort. The occasion afforded him an opportunity many can merely dream of: a ride in the racing taxi in demanding conditions in the rain.

Spengler was the highest place Mercedes driver

Bruno Spengler (Mercedes-Benz Bank AMG C-Class) finished fifth in the sixth round of the 2008 DTM in Zandvoort, Netherlands and was the best Mercedes-Benz driver. After 38 laps, he came home 21.9sec behind winner Mattias Ekstrom (Audi).

Ingolstadt/Zandvoort – Audi showed a dominant performance at the sixth DTM round at Zandvoort and, like last year, celebrated a one-two-three-four victory in the Netherlands. It was the new Audi A4 DTM’s best result so far and Audi’s 45th victory in the DTM. One day before his 30th birthday, title defender Mattias Ekström celebrated his second exploit of the season, after winning the season opener at Hockenheim. Following the twelfth DTM triumph of his career, the two-time champion is now the best Audi driver in DTM history.

Rydell took his first WTCC win and helped Seat to a great weekend

RACE 1

Rickard Rydell led from the first corner in his SEAT León TDI to win the first race in Estoril, which was also his first victory of the season.

The start was extremely competitive as the front four drivers all fought for the lead. Rydell kept a cool head as he found he had the pace over pole sitter Chevrolet’s Nicola Larini into the first corner. Robert Huff came up the outside to challenge for second position but made contact with Jordi Gené’s SEAT, which pushed the Chevrolet driver down to sixth.

Melbourne based Aston Martin driver John Kaias has taken his maiden round victory and two race wins at round 4 of the Australian GT Championship held at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Circuit (July 12-13) at the weekend.

Matt Nicholl-Jones and Stewart Linn have won the GT4 Championship

Jon Barnes and James Gornall moved a step closer to the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT title by winning Round 11 at Brands Hatch, finishing ahead of Hector Lester and Allan Simonsen who remain their only challengers with three races remaining. However the day belonged to Matt Nicol-Jones and Stewart Linn who finished 3rd in class to become the inaugural Avon Tyres British GT4 Champions.

James Gornall and Jon Barnes are the British GT Champions with two rounds to spare

Michael Cullen and Paddy Shovlin celebrated their third win of the year after a rear wheel problem denied James Gornall and Jon Barnes a dream way to win the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship. The Team Trimite Brookspeed Viper finished 7th, which was good enough to put the title beyond doubt. Newly crowned GT4 Champions Matt Nicol-Jones and Stewart Linn finished the weekend with their sixth win from twelve races.
