On September 14, the MOTEGI GT300km Race, Round 7 of the 2008 AUTOBACS SUPER GT, was held at the Twin Ring Motegi (one lap 4.801 km) in Tochigi Prefecture and the GT500 class winner was the YellowHat YMS TOMICA GT-R driven by Ronnie Quintarelli and Naoki Yokomizo.

Stuttgart. The final race of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup in the Italian city of Monza could hardly have been more thrilling. On the damp high-speed circuit, Frenchman Nicolas Armindo (26) navigated his 420 hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup through the notorious chicanes and brought home the team title for his Konrad Motorsport squad. Second went to Joerg Hardt (Germany) driving for Schnabl Engineering-LKM-KplusK Motorsport. The new champion Jeroen Bleekemolen (Netherlands), competing for the Jetstream Motorsport PZ Essen team, saw the chequered flag in third position.

After a two-race break the Ford GT returned to its winning ways in the second race at Brno; victory for the No.20 Matech GT Racing pair of Ian Khan and Thomas Mutsch mean the Ford has won five of the eight races in this year’s FIA GT3 European Championship. Second place went to the No.8 Hexis Racing Aston Martin DBRS9 of Pierre-Brice Mena and Thomas Accary – some consolation for the duo being denied a podium finish on Saturday by a stop-go penalty – while Sascha Bert and Alois Meir claimed third in the No.2 Martini Callaway Racing Corvette Z.06R GT3.

The Brno Circuit in the Czech Republic lived up to its reputation for providing nail-biting finishes today, when despite autumnal temperatures, a thrilling race took place around the 5.403 km track. Victory went to Jetalliance’s Aston Martin DBR9 in GT1, while AF Corse stepped back to the top of the podium with a win in GT2. With three rounds remaining, the points are closing up in GT1, while GT2 sees AF Corse move ever closer to the Teams titles.

Silverstone: Audi Takes the Win and an Unlikely Championship


The Charouz Aston Martin scored a podium, taking advantage of some the difficulties from the diesel runners

Audi recorded its first win in the 2008 Le Mans Series at the fifth and final race, the Autosport Silverstone 1000kms. By so doing, the German manufacturer claimed the teams' and manufacturers' titles, while with fourth place on the road, Alexandre Premat and Mike Rockenfeller won the drivers' title.
