Tomczyk Talks Barcelona and the DTM


Tomczyk has been successful at Barcelona

Ingolstadt – The Barcelona circuit is used for the third time by the DTM. Last year, the Audi drivers experienced the circuit for the first time following the extensive modifications to the section before the start-finish. Martin Tomczyk connects several record performances with the track in Catalonia. "Das Erste" broadcasts the ninth round of the DTM live on 21 September from 1.45 p.m.

Bid for Liz Halliday's Signed Race Suite and Help Mencap!

Fans of Liz Halliday have the opportunity to own one of the dual sportswoman's race suits, signed by the California-born racing driver and equestrian.

Halliday, who is now based in the UK, has donated one of her racing suits to be sold off at a charity auction with all proceeds going to Mencap -- The leading UK charity for people with a learning disability and their families. The suit was previously worn by Liz during the 2007 Le Mans 24 Hours where she raced for Del Bello Racing in the LMP2 category and led the class before gearbox problems forced retirement in the early hours of the morning.

From the Fans Award Five Finalists Named

The top five nominees for this year's American Le Mans Series "From the Fans" award are in. From now until Sunday, October 5 - the end of Petit Le Mans weekend - voting will determine this year's winner. The award will be presented at the season-ending banquet in Monterey, Calif., the day after the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Petit: Dario Franchitti to Join Patrón Highcroft Racing


Franchitti will race for Highcroft at Petit Le Mans

DANBURY, Conn. (Sept. 17, 2008) -- Dario Franchitti, the 2007 Indy 500 and IndyCar Series champion, will join the multi race-winning Patrón Highcroft Racing duo of Scott Sharp and David Brabham for the next round of the American Le Mans Series, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, on Saturday, October 4. The Scotland native will drive the No. 9 Patrón Highcroft Acura ARX-01b prototype sports car for the first time in the prestigious 1,000-mile event and penultimate 2008 ALMS round.

Petit: Penske Adds a Third Car

Two more of racing's biggest names will take part in this year's Petit Le Mans powered by the Totally New Mazda6 with the entry of a third Penske Porsche RS Spyder for former works driver Ryan Briscoe and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves. The pair will race the No. 5 Penske Motorsports entry October 4 in the annual 1,000-mile/10-hour endurance classic that is the cornerstone event of the American Le Mans Series.
