Treluyer bounced back with a strong race after his massive Le Mans crash

It should have been so much better. Having qualified on pole, Benoît Tréluyer and Satoshi Motoyama’s hopes of victory in Malaysia were high. That’s until second gear broke on their Motul-Autech Nissan GT-R during the installation lap. Determined to make amends after starting from the pit lane, the pair would battle back through the field to eventually finish eighth.

Spa will be a double header with Donington following the weekend after

One of the most-awaited events of the International GT Open is at our door : the third round of the 2009 season takes place in Spa-Francorchamps on 26-28 June and there is no doubt that the legendary track in the Belgian Ardennes is on top of the ranking of preferred circuits for most drivers. The Spa event will also see in action the Euro F.3 Open, the FIA F.2 and other prominent series, in the framework of the traditional Spa Euro Races meeting.

The van der Steur team make their first appearance since 2007

van der Steur Racing’s return to the American Le Mans Series’ grid and the second round of entries in the new Challenge class highlight the entry list for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix, set for July 17-18 at Lime Rock Park.

During today's meeting of the FIA's World Motor Sport Council, it was confirmed that the FIA has reached agreement with SRO to be the promoter of the new FIA GT1 World Championship from 2010.
