GT1 World: Navarra - Will Lambo's 2010 Form Beat Out Nissan's 2011 Form?


Nissan will hope to continue their run of form in Spain

In 2010 Navarra was a replacement for the event that was due to be held in Durban, South Africa. The choice was fortuitous, as the Spanish circuit provided some of the best racing action of the inaugural season of the FIA GT1 World Championship, and Navarra was at the top of the list for tracks to be included on the 2011 calendar as a result. The race in Navarra marks the start of the second half of the ten- event season, which has seen wins for Nissan, Lamborghini, Ford and Aston Martin so far.

Porsche's last overall win at Le Mans came with the 911 GT1

Stuttgart. Porsche returns to Le Mans with a works-run LMP1 sports prototype. The first outing of the completely new developed race car is planned for the year 2014. With 16 overall victories, Porsche is the most successful manufacturer in Le Mans. The most recent win was in 1998 with the Porsche 911 GT1.

Last year Lamborghini ruled supreme at Navarra and All-Inkl have carried on where Reiter left off by posting the two fastest times of the 80-minute Free Practice session for Round 6 of the FIA GT1 World Championship in Spain.

The two All-Inkl.com Munnich Motorsport Lamborghini Murcilagos were once again filling the top two places on the timing sheet after the Pre Qualifying session. However in a change from Free Practice it was the nr37 Lambo of Dominik Schwager and Nicky Pastorelli that was ahead of the nr38 car of Markus Winkelhock and Marc Basseng. The nr37 car posted a time of 1m36.743, with the nr38 car 0.074s slower. The nr11 Exim Bank Team China Corvette of Mike Hezemans and Nico Verdonck was once again the fastest non Lamborghini in the session finishing 0.467s behind the faster of the two Lamborghinis and ahead of the nr40 Marc VDS Racing Team Ford GT of Bas Leinders and Marc Hennerici.

LMS, ILMC: Imola 6 Hours - First Blood to Peugeot


The Le Mans Series competitors will be joined by the ILMC at Imola

Nineteen days after the finish of the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Imola 6 Hours saw battle rejoined in the Le Mans Series between the main endurance teams. The first free practice session turned in Peugeot's favour in front of its main rival, Audi.

A storm soaked the track mid-afternoon so only 29 cars took part in the second free session reduced to 60 minutes. At the end, the two Peugeot 908s topped the time sheets with no. 8 in front of no. 7. They were followed by the no. 46 LM P2 Oreca 03-Nissan entered by TDS Racing.
