- Monza: Home Duel (Within 2 Points) For Playteam and Autorlando:
Thirty-five cars have been entered to the Monza GT Open, the 7th round of the season, certainly an emotional one as the Dunlop-backed series celebrates its 2Oth GT Open event, in the very circuit where it held its maiden race, back in 2006.
- Sir Stirling Moss Presented With Fiskens' 'Spirit Of The Woodcote Trophy' Award:
A third season of the Fiskens-supported Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy came to a thrilling finale at the glorious Spa-Francorchamps this weekend where the London-based Historic Automobile dealership presented a true legend with their ‘Sprit of the Woodcote Trophy’ award.
- Lédenon 3-Hours: Endurance and Sprint Prototype Preview:
Highly disputed since its inception, this challenge first of all saw the reign for three seasons, of the constructor from the south-west of France, Norma, before British constructor Juno carried off the title in 2007. Today, this season has smiled on another French constructor, Ligier, who is about to take the title.
- Lédenon 3 Hours: Jostling for the Lead!:
Winners in Germany, Belgians Greisch and Kelders in their n°15 Porsche 997 Cup have established a slight lead on their direct rivals but no less than ten teams are in the running for a win. So the Challenge is more open than ever and new arrivals could put the cat among the pigeons with the regulars.
- Lédenon 3-Hours: The French Champion Title in Sight:
The French Championship will reveal its 2008 champions who are all new contenders as the three teams which have any chance of winning have never won. The confrontation between the Challenge GTs and Protos will be hosting more recent cars, and the arrival of the new competitors should be giving the podium regulars a bit of grief and somewhat upset the end of season outcome.
- Estoril: Rossi Fights Back to Take Race 2:
The fight for the Eurocup Mégane Trophy title is set to go down to the wire! In Race 2 at Estoril, the battle between Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS) was fiercer than ever, with Rossi overtaking Martin and Martin coming back at him hard. Rossi's fourth win of the season means he will head to Barcelona with a lead of six points over Martin.
- Estoril: Martin Takes Race 1:
Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) continued his recent run of form today, picking up his sixth win of the season ahead of Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS). Rossi still leads the Eurocup Mégane Trophy standings, but Martin is now only three points behind him.
- Sir Stirling Moss to Appear at Spa 6 Hours:
A wonderful whiff of nostalgia will be blowing across the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps during the weekend of the 26th, 27th and 28th September, on the occasion of the 2008 edition of the "Spa Six Hours".
- Magny-Cours: Autorlando Takes the Honours on Sunday:
It was a perfect day for Autorlando Sport in the Magny-Cours GT Open race, as the Porsches 997 of the Italian squad signed a resounding one-two victory with Richard Lietz-Gianluca Roda first and Stefano Zonca - Andrea Belicchi second, at the end of an exciting and somewhat unpredictable race, marked by a collective accident at first corner and a 4-lap long safety car period. Monfardini-Frezza took the third place for Edil Cris in their Ferrari F430.
- Magny Cours: A Dominant Win for Trottet Racing:
Trottet Racing brilliantly took its third victory of the season in the Pro-Am race of the Magny-Cours GT Open, when Marcel Fässler and Henri Moser drove an impeccable flag-to-flag race ahead of the pack. Championship leaders Andrea Montermini and Michele Maceratesi finished second in their Playteam Ferrari after charging back successfully from a spin in lap one. Third position was for Damien Pasini and Alessandro Bonetti finished third in their Advanced Engineering Ferrari, after a strong battle with various cars.
- Magny-Cours: Fassler Takes Pole:
Marcel Fässler, fastest in free practice on Friday, kept the advantage in qualifying 1, with his Trottet Ferrari, setting the pole in 1'39"400, but his advantage over opponents reduced to 186 hundredths of a second, with Montermini (Playteam Ferrari) in second position. Andrea Belicchi (Autorlando) was an excellent third and the first Porsche, followed by five other Ferraris (among which the fifth fastest time of GPC's Frassineti was worth of note) and the Drivex Porsche of Chacón.
- Spa 6 Hours: Historic Racing at its Best:
The F1 have hardly left the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, when true to tradition the classic and historic brigade prepare themselves to invade the paddocks. Scheduled one week earlier than last year, the Spa Six Hours has over the last few years grown in prestige, with the Roadbook Organisation team making it a point of honour to ensure a quality event... but equally a unique atmosphere in the field of historic racing.
- Le Mans: Martin Wins as Enjalbert Sees Title Hopes Disappear:
The Belgian national anthem rang out at Le Mans as Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) picked up his fifth race win of the season. Michaël Rossi (TDS) was second, with Matthieu Cheruy (Tech 1 Racing) in third. Martin's win puts him within seven points of Michaël Rossi in the Eurocup Mégane Trophy overall standings.
- Le Mans: A Win from Pole fro Enjalbert:
Since the beginning of the meeting, Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing) has completely dominated proceedings. After securing pole position for both races, the driver from the Ile-de-France region has now recorded his first win of the season, bringing him a few points closer to Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS) second and third respectively today in the championship standings.
- Le Mans: Enjalbert Sets a Stunning Qualifying Pace:
Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing) made his knowledge of the Bugatti circuit count this morning as he earned his first two pole positions of the season, qualifying ahead of the current Eurocup Mégane Trophy top two, Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS).
- Le Mans: The Best Show Yet:
Just a few days ago, the Eurocup Mégane Trophy drivers put on an exceptional performance to the hearty approval of their German fans. At the Le Mans Bugatti circuit, the competitors, currently led by Michaël Rossi (TDS) and Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) will be determined to do just as well!
- Nurburgring: Enjalbert Takes Out Race Two in a Tight Finish:
The three leaders in the Eurocup Mégane Trophy general standings did themselves justice today as they fought for victory. Refueling strategy was the key to this race. Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing) lost out by stopping too early, while Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) came out of the pits ahead of Michaël Rossi (TDS).
- Dermont Wins Megane Trophy at Nurburgring:
Everything started badly for Michaël Rossi (TDS) who stalled at the start. The Frenchman still managed to make it into first place, taking advantage of the misfortunes of Maxime Martin (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing) and Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing). But a technical problem hampered Rossi on the final lap, handing victory to David Dermont (Thierry Boutsen Energy Racing).
- EuroSpeedway 6 Hours: Schell and Caussanel at Last!:
The summer weather conditions at the start of the weekend gave way on Sunday morning to a veritable deluge for the race start. The top drivers from each team lined up for the start under these perilous conditions to try not to make any mistakes during the first stint. The English were rubbing their hands with glee, already imagining themselves at the top of the classifications.
- EuroSpeedway 6 Hours: A Successful Mix as GT and Histroic Combine on Track:
The competitors in the V de V endurance fields found the Lausitz EuroSpeedway track an exceptional venue. There was no lack of words in praise of it, both from the drivers, who had to adapt to and understand a highly technical and impressive track, and from the teams who appreciated this grandiose site.
- Lausitz 6-Hours: Challenge Endurance Proto - "Ligier More than Halfway There!":
2006 Challenge winner at the wheel of a Norma shared with Rémy Wurtz, Julien Schell is off to a good start this season to bring home the title to his family stable, Pegasus Racing. With the support today from David Caussanel in the Ligier JS49 N°18 EVO, they only need one more win for to be totallyl over the moon.
- Lausitz 6-Hours - Challenge Endurance VHC "More Trouble at the Top":
Unlike the Challenge Endurance GT/Tourisme, the leaders of the Challenge Endurance VHC will not miss an opportunity to notch up a hefty load of points. With their superb 1974 Porsche 3.0 RSR N°17, Patrick Biehler and Marc De Siebenthal should have lots of fun mixing it with the moderns. The car, prepared in Marc's Swiss workshops, will also be driven by the man who has lent a hand for the long races, his brother, Olivier.
- Lausitz 6-Hours - VHC and GT/Tourisme "Trouble in the Air":
As this event does not count towards the Championnat de France Endurance VHC, some teams have preferred to stay on vacation rather than stretch their legs on this superb track. The Challenge Endurance VHC competitors will be racing alongside those in the Challenge Endurance GT/Tourisme. Comparison of the times set by the historic racers shows that the mix will be quite balanced and the thrill of overtaking the more modern carss should add a little spice for those behind the wheels of the classics.
- Nurburgring: THP Spider Cup Recap:
With an entry of 23 Spider THPs for the start of the season’s ninth encounter, the first Nürburgring showdown had the makings of being a particularly exciting race, and so it was. There was drama all the way to the flag and it was finally a thrilled and delighted Marcel Sciabbarrasi who picked up the top prize.
- WRC Champ, Loeb Joins Schumacher at The Race of Champions:
Sébastien Loeb, the most successful driver in World Rallying history, will take on Michael Schumacher and a host of top racers at Wembley Stadium this year, after the Frenchman confirmed that he will compete in The Race of Champions 2008, which takes place on Sunday 14 December.
- Valencia: Fassler-Moser Give Swiss Trottet Racing Second Win:
Swiss Trottet Racing took a resounding win in the GTA Pro-Am race of the Valencia Street Circuit GT Open, after a perfect race by Marcel Fässler and Henri Moser, who replicated the success obtained in Spa early June and confirmed the excellent shape of the Swiss Ferrari F430 GTC.
- Valencia: Draw Between Porsche and Ferrari in Valencia Thanks to Lietz-Roda:
Richard Lietz y Gianluca Roda have won with authority the GTA Valencia Street Circuit GT Open, after dominating the race from flag to flag in their Autorlando Porsche 997 RSR, which today was extremely competitive. The Austrian-Italian pair had no trouble in controlling the race, beating Giacomo Ricci-Matteo Bobbi, who confirmed the return to the top of GPC Sport, and the Portuguese pair of Playteam SaraFree, Gião-Couceiro, once again in the podium, the sixth this year. Today's win is the third this season and marks a good draw between Ferrari and Porsche in this historic first event in the impressive new Valencia Street Circuit.
- Valencia: Local, Young Heroes Julia-Pamplo Crowned in GTS:
A special round of the International GT Open like this one in the new Valencia Street Circuit needed a special, emotional touch. José Luis Pampló and Miquel Julià contributed it, by taking a deserved victory that was saluted with warmth by everybody. Not only this was the maiden victory for the pair driving Escudería's Roger Ferrari F430, but Miquel and José Luis are the youngest driver pair in the series (their added ages barely pass 40 years) and they are true local heroes, as Pampló is from Valencia and Julià from neighboring Mallorca.
- F1's Webber and WSBK Bayliss to Compete at Race of Champions:
Bayliss and Webber will become the first all-Australian team to enter The Race of Champions The Race of Champions will feature an all-Australian team for the first time when the spectacular event returns to Wembley Stadium on December 14, with Ducati’s Double Superbike World Champion, Troy Bayliss, partnering Red Bull Racing F1 driver, Mark Webber.
- Valencia: Playteam SaraFree Is In Spain And Ready For Round Five:
Only two weeks after the Portuguese event, the 2008 International GT Open season, which kicked off on 20 April 2008 at Vallelunga near Rome is now entering its critical phase with the fifth round now scheduled ahead of the first ever motoring event in the new Formula 1 track in Valencia harbour in Spain.
- Valencia: All Set For The Most Special International GT Open Ever:
« Todo listo », which can be translated as "Everything on schedule" is the most heard sentence these hours in the Valencia Street Circuit, two days ahead of the beginning of the first-ever motoring event in the new Formula 1 track nested in the harbor of the Spanish coastal metropolis.
- Valencia: RSV To Race at Track's Debut:
RSV makes its debut in an urban circuitThe International GT Open is going to be held in the new urban circuit of Valencia, where the Formula 1 Europe Grand Prix is going to take place. This is the first race in an urban circuit for RSV Motorsport, and it comes just after both drivers of the team have made their best performance of the year in Estoril.
- WTCC Champ Priaulx Returns To The Race of Champions:
Andy Priaulx demonstrated his WTCC BMW at The Race of Champions in 2007 Andy Priaulx, Britain’s reigning three-times FIA World Touring Car Champion, has signed up to compete at The Race of Champions 2008, when the star-studded event returns to Wembley Stadium on Sunday, December 14.
- Spyker Wins! - at the Lithuanian Omnitel 1000 km:
Palanga, 19 July 2008 - In good weather conditions SNORAS Spyker Squadron started from pole position in the Baltic's biggest endurance race; the Omnitel 1000 km. The annual held race drew many thousands spectators to the top-class Lithuanian beach resort of Palanga for the 50-car grid with entrants from several Baltic countries.
- Legends Race at the BMW M1 Revival at Hockenheim:
Hockenheim (DE). After 30 years, the BMW M1 Procar Series made its comeback to the circuit today, Saturday, with a host of big names and a host of fun. Ten celebrity-manned examples of the close to 500 hp mid-engined racers delivered the first of two show races on the Hockenheimring as part of the support programme of the German Formula One Grand Prix.
- Goodwood Provides Spectacular Setting To Celebrate Lola's 50 Golden Years In Motorsport:
Heroes of the racetrack paid tribute to Lola at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (11-13 July). Attended by over 100,000 spectators, Damon Hill, John Surtees, Sebastien Bourdais, Brian Redman and Carl Haas were among many famous faces joining legendary Lola founder Eric Broadley and current owner Martin Birrane in marking the golden anniversary of the world’s most prolific and successful racing car constructor.
- The Dijon 6 Hours: Three Chevrons Ahead!:
The changing weather soaked Sunday's races in steady rain, which enabled the drivers to appreciate the different changes made to the circuit in the interests of safety. Placings in the V de V endurance and sprint challenges have closed up at the top end of the classifications confirming a very hotly disputed start of season.
- Dijon 3 Hours: Sunday with the Family!:
In spite of competition from cars just as fast, if not faster than their Porsche 997 Cup, and in the hands of drivers much more used to the Challenge, Anne-Sophie and Michel Nourry were able to make the most of Michel's tremendous experience in endurance racing to score a win under the most difficult conditions.
- Dijon 3 Hours: New win for IRS, Pegasus Still Ahead!:
The start of race on a damp track quickly gave over to a gradually drier track after the first hour, obliging drivers to hone their strategies. In spite of a further win by a car from the IRS stable, the third this season and the second by the Ibanez/Cavailhes team, the Ligier JS49 from Pegasus Racing once again made it onto the podium, four times in four races, and increased its lead at the head of the Challenge.
- Dijon: The Challenge Sprint Prototype Review:
The first practice session set the scene for the weekend with a gap of only five thousandths of a second between the two drivers in the lead in the Challenge. Zollinger took pole ahead of Toulemonde, both driving Norma M20 Fs.
- Estoril: Last Lap Win For Montermini-Maceratesi In Estoril:
Andrea Montermini and Michele Maceratesi took a superb third victory this season in the very last lap of the Pro-Am race of the Estoril GT Open, despite a 20-second handicap, to further increase their lead in the overall standings of the championship (103 points).
- Jensen Button Signs Up For 2008 Race Of Champions:
Jenson Button has signed up to fight for national honour this December, by confirming he will compete at Wembley stadium when The Race of Champions returns to the UK for a second successive year on Sunday 14 December. In doing so he has set up the first national grudge match of the event, as Britain tries to wrestle the ROC Nations Cup from its old sporting rivals and reigning champions, Germany.
- Hungaroring: Rossi Back on Top in Race 2:
Michaël Rossi (TDS) was back on form, as he claimed his third win of the season. He has given himself some breathing space at the top of the overall standings ahead of Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing), who finished third today behind Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing).
- Hungaroring: Martin Takes Race 1:
Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) avoided all the pitfalls to take victory in a third consecutive race. This brings him to within a point of Michaël Rossi (TDS) in the overall standings of the Eurocup Megane Trophy. In last place at the end of the first lap, Rossi climbed to second position, the podium being completed by Sébastien Dhouailly (Team Lompech Sport).
- Hungaroring: Rossi On Pole Again:
After those at Spa-Francorchamps, Michaël Rossi (TDS) takes another two pole positions Eurocup Mégane Trophy. Dominant from the start of collective testing, the Frenchman left little hope for the competition as he put himself in the lead right from the word go. In the gentleman-drivers category, Jean-Philippe Madonia copied his team-mate, also taking the two pole positions.
- Lola's Golden Anniversary Celebrations At The Goodwood Festival Of Speed:
Some of motor sport’s most respected names from both sides of the Atlantic - including Damon Hill, John Surtees, Carl Haas, Brian Redman, Paul Tracy and current F1 driver Sebastien Bourdais - will support Lola’s 50th Anniversary celebrations at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (11-13 July). Also in attendance will be the founder of Lola cars, Eric Broadley MBE, who will be joining Martin Birrane, Lola’s current owner and Executive Chairman, to mark this milestone occasion.
- GT Open Taken Over by Youth:
One of the most interesting characteristics of the 2008 season of the International GT Open is the sharp drop of the average age of drivers, a trend that appeared already last year but which is even more evident in 2008, and repeals all the established clichés about GT racing. The category is not only one for old stars, gentlemen and semi-professional drivers. On the contrary, it is becoming a very attracting option for young, talented and ambitious drivers.
- Dijon: Preview of the Dijon 6 Hours:
The Dijon event is the mid-season point for the FFSA Series races. Before the summer truce, drivers will be giving it all on one of their favourite tracks where safety has been improved over the winter. The Summer will give everyone time to prepare for the first edition of the historic and modern « EuroSpeedway 6 Hours » run on the German Lausitz track on 22, 23 and 24 August.
- Dijon: Endurance GT and Touring Preview:
The fourth race of the season will be run in the classic 3-hour format before the GT and Tourisme events are run, for the first time, on the EuroSpeedway circuit at Lausitz in Germany for a kick-off event run over 6 hours.

The Challenge Endurance Proto is undoubtedly the hottest disputed competition in European auto sport. Around ten constructors will be running run against one another to have the privilege of wrenching back the title that English constructor Juno snatched in 2007 from French constructor Norma, the reigning champion for the last three seasons.
- Simon Moulton Takes Command at Val de Vienne:
The third meeting of the year produced yet another change at the top of the championship standings, with Britain’s Simon Moulton easing past Julien Beltoise. Neither of these two drivers won a race at Val de Vienne. That honour went instead to Picardy-based drivers Julien Briché (Saturday) and Alexandre Rambure (Sunday), the latter notching up his first ever success in motor racing.
- Michael Schumacher, Wembley Return for the Race of Champions:
The battle to decide the world’s fastest motorsport star will take place at Wembley Stadium this December, when The 2008 Race Of Champions returns for its second successive year.
- Val de Vienne: Peugeot's Double Bill:
It’s almost as though nothing can separate the THP Spider Cup and the Coupe 207 THP any more! Following the recent WTCC weekend in Pau where both of Peugeot Sport’s single-make racing series formed part of the programme, the two championships will be sharing the bill again this weekend at the French circuit of Val de Vienne which is hosting a Super Série FFSA fixture. The two competitions are very distinct, but the THP Spider Cup and the Coupe 207 THP do have a couple of points in common: the cars that star in both championships are powered by the same 1.6 THP engine (which is the fruit of collaboration with BMW Group) and the fact that they both offer outstanding spectator value...
- Silverstone: Maxime Martin Makes His a Double!:
A roaring success with the 110 000 strong crowd, this weekend's British round of the World Series by Renault at Silverstone was also a resounding personal success for Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) who carried off wins in both Eurocup Mégane Trophy races. In the championship standings, he closed the gap on Michaël Rossi (TDS) who is currently second behind Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing).
- Silverstone: Martin Turns Pole into Win:
In a race full of incident, poleman Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) came out on top for the first time this season. When Michaël Rossi (TDS) ran out of fuel in the closing stages, Bernhard Ten Brinke (Equipe Verschuur) and Sébastien Dhouailly (Team Lompech Sport) took full advantage to secure their places alongside Martin on the podium.
- Silverstone: Martin Takes Pole in Both Sessions:
Penalized for failing to slow down when the yellow flags were brought out, Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS), have been stripped of the pole positions they were initially awarded, to the benefit of Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) and Michaël Rossi (TDS). The Belgian driver will now start from pole in both the weekend's races.
- Pirelli GT Championship Announces Series Changes:
Following the successful debut this year of the “Pirelli Gran Turismo Championship” grids are set to expand as promoters Trofeo Motorsport release the eligibility list for their second class “Sportsman.” Aimed at a lower power-to-weight ratio than the existing GT cars already contesting the series, the Sportsman class will be open to European GT4 class type cars, selected ex-Performance Car category class cars and other volume manufactured sports cars with limited modifications. All sportsman cars will use Pirelli slick control tyres.
- Spa: All Ferrari Podiums for the GT Open:
There were two all-Ferrari podiums in the third round of the GT Open 2008 Championship, making its first visit to the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
- Spa: A Good Display but RSV Deserved More:
RSV Motorsport didn’t have much good luck in the Spa-Francorchamps, where the third meeting of the International GT Open was held. Domingo Romero and Peter Sundberg finished their job in the mythical Belgian circuit with an eighth and an eleventh position, a result which don’t reflect their real pace on the track after run in fourth place on Sunday.
- Pau: Tyre Choice and the Barriers Dictate Results in Pau:
Mike Parisy’s assertive run during Saturday’s race looked certain to see him take the spoils but the Pau-based driver crashed off while waving to spectators three laps from home. That left the path clear for pole-winner Julien Briche who went on to pick up a handsome win ahead of Gregory Guilvert and Simon Moulton. The second race was greatly influenced by tyre choices.
- A European Fan Crowd to Witness the International GT Open’s Debut in Spa:
Everything is set for a great event in Spa-Francorchamps which will see this week-end the debut of the International GT Open in what is considered one of the most beautiful and difficult circuits in the world. The superb track in the Belgian Ardennes is also known as ‘the circuit of the four borders", because of its proximity to Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands and because racing fans flock in from these countries, and also from Britain, at every major event. No surprise thus that the traditional end-of-May meeting, of which this year the International GT Open is the stellar feature, is called Euro Spa Race.

- Nurburgring 24h: Strong Performance from Matech Ford GT:
After two wins in the opening weekend of the ADAC GT Masters, the German GT3 Championship, Matech GT Racing only entered one Ford GT in the second meeting of the year at the Nürburgring. The races were held during the weekend of the mythic 24 Hours of the Ring. “We didn’t find a final agreement yet for our second car for the remaining of the season”, explains Martin Bartek, team manager of the Swiss team. “One of our cars was heavily damaged in Monza last week, so we didn’t want to take any risks at all. We hope to finalize a deal before the third meeting of the series that will take place on the Norisring on June the 27, 28 and 29.”

The work undertaken by Peugeot Sport throughout the winter on the Spider THP cars has paid off. The cars are not only quicker by two seconds per lap, but they are also even more fun to drive. In total, 13 cars lined up on the grid for the first race of the season at Monza. The reigning champion Dino Lunardi won the race in front of Julien Beltoise and Englishman Simon Moulton.

The fight in the final laps was absolutely bretah-taking between the two AE Ferraris of Casé and the sister car of Playteam driven by Montermini. A contact beteen the leading car of Casé and Montermini left the first one out of the race, but Montermini was later impeccably overtaken by Pasini. Third place in the race was for the Edil Cris Ferrari of Monfardini-Frezza. Championship standings are led by Montermini-Maceratesi (40 points) ahead of PAsini- Bonetti (36), Giao-Couceiro (28) and Monfardini-Frezza (16)

Scuderia Playteam SaraFree started the 2008 season in the best possible way, as Andrea Montermini-Michele Maceratesi and Manuel Gião-Pedro Couceiro took their Ferraris F430 to a beautiful double win in the Pro-Am Race in Vallelunga. The blue F430s had a relatively easy race, which had started under the command of the SunRed SR21 of Pérez-Aicart, later slowed down and retired after losing the front body. Advanced Engineering took third (Pasini-Bonetti) and fourth (Casè-Rugolo), completing the success of the Ferraris, while Autorlando Porsche of Lietz-Roda was fifth.

The Cessna Citation 1 jet experienced engine troubles shortly after takeoff and despite the best efforts of the pilots, the plane came down in a residential suburb. Fortunately, no one was injured on the ground.

- Speedcars Rev Engines for Debut Season:
Speedcar Series stock cars will line the grid on the 25th and 26th of this month at the Dubai Autodrome for its inaugural season. Last week the V8 620 brake horse power identical stock cars passed the FIA dynamic crash tests in Europe and are preparing to race in their debut 2008 series as part of the FIA calendar.
- Double Persian Gulf Victory for Porsche:
Stuttgart. The Australian Porsche team VIP Pet Foods has won the 24 Hours in Dubai. Tony Quinn, Klark Quinn, Craig Baird and Jonathan Webb in their Porsche 911 GT3 RSR completed 504 laps around the 5.4 kilometer Dubai Autodrome circuit without any technical problems whatsoever.

- Dunlop To Partner With New UK GT Cup Racing Series:
The organisers of the new GT Cup racing series have chosen Dunlop Motorsport as the sole tyre supplier to the inaugural series.
The new televised series will consist of eight ‘double-header’ events at the UK’s top circuits, including Silverstone, Donington and Brands Hatch, and will be open to production GT cars such as Ferraris, TVRs and Porsches.
