Thrilling Finale To 2008 to GT Open Season In Barcelona


Playteam Sarafree will look for a positive end to the season

Before the curtain falls on the 2008 season, the International GT Open will deliver an exciting final battle for the overall title. The Catalunya GT Open, the eighth and last event of the series, will not fail to the tradition of being both the title-decider and one of the best-attended GT races in Europe. The entry list published today by GT Sport sees no less than 48 cars expected in Montmelò, and includes some additional great GT racers, such as Stéphane Ortelli, Vincent Vosse, Eric Hélary and Alex Davison.

Speedcar Series Announces $3 Million Prize Pot

For Season 2, Speedcar Series is making the prize money more attractive to teams and drivers alike. The 3 million dollar prize pot includes 500,000 US dollars to the winning championship driver and an additional 500,000 US dollars to the winning championship team. Drivers will also win pre-determined amounts of money for each of the 12 races through the season. As an added incentive drivers on pole position for each of the 6 rounds will be awarded 10,000 US dollars.

GT Open Releases Provisional 2009 Calendar

GT Sport today has released the provisional calendar for the 2009 International GT Open, which includes up to nine two-race events and remains consistent with one of the basic principles of the series, which is to offer its participants, spectators and TV viewers only circuits and venues of the highest international standards.
