Val de Vienne produced great racing in the THP Spider Cup
The third meeting of the year produced yet another change at the top of the championship standings, with Britain’s Simon Moulton easing past Julien Beltoise. Neither of these two drivers won a race at Val de Vienne. That honour went instead to Picardy-based drivers Julien Briché (Saturday) and Alexandre Rambure (Sunday), the latter notching up his first ever success in motor racing.

The THP Spider Cup is back in action
It’s almost as though nothing can separate the THP Spider Cup and the Coupe 207 THP any more! Following the recent WTCC weekend in Pau where both of Peugeot Sport’s single-make racing series formed part of the programme, the two championships will be sharing the bill again this weekend at the French circuit of Val de Vienne which is hosting a Super Série FFSA fixture. The two competitions are very distinct, but the THP Spider Cup and the Coupe 207 THP do have a couple of points in common: the cars that star in both championships are powered by the same 1.6 THP engine (which is the fruit of collaboration with BMW Group) and the fact that they both offer outstanding spectator value...

Martin was able to take the win from the pole
08/06/08 - Silverstone - Race 2
A roaring success with the 110 000 strong crowd, this weekend's British round of the World Series by Renault at Silverstone was also a resounding personal success for Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) who carried off wins in both Eurocup Mégane Trophy races. In the championship standings, he closed the gap on Michaël Rossi (TDS) who is currently second behind Dimitri Enjalbert (Tech 1 Racing).

Martin produces performance full of energy
07/06/08 - Silverstone Race 1
In a race full of incident, poleman Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) came out on top for the first time this season. When Michaël Rossi (TDS) ran out of fuel in the closing stages, Bernhard Ten Brinke (Equipe Verschuur) and Sébastien Dhouailly (Team Lompech Sport) took full advantage to secure their places alongside Martin on the podium.

The Pirelli Gran Turismo Championship set to expand in a tough Australian GT environment
Following the successful debut this year of the “Pirelli Gran Turismo Championship” grids are set to expand as promoters Trofeo Motorsport release the eligibility list for their second class “Sportsman.” Aimed at a lower power-to-weight ratio than the existing GT cars already contesting the series, the Sportsman class will be open to European GT4 class type cars, selected ex-Performance Car category class cars and other volume manufactured sports cars with limited modifications. RSV Motorsport had the pace but could not find the podium
RSV Motorsport didn’t have much good luck in the Spa-Francorchamps, where the third meeting of the International GT Open was held. Domingo Romero and Peter Sundberg finished their job in the mythical Belgian circuit with an eighth and an eleventh position, a result which don’t reflect their real pace on the track after run in fourth place on Sunday.

A daring display and plenty of panache from the boisterous THP Spider Cup pack through the streets of Pau.
Mike Parisy’s assertive run during Saturday’s race looked certain to see him take the spoils but the Pau-based driver crashed off while waving to spectators three laps from home. That left the path clear for pole-winner Julien Briche who went on to pick up a handsome win ahead of Gregory Guilvert and Simon Moulton. The second race was greatly influenced by tyre choices.
