The changing weather soaked Sunday's races in steady rain, which enabled the drivers to appreciate the different changes made to the circuit in the interests of safety. Placings in the V de V endurance and sprint challenges have closed up at the top end of the classifications confirming a very hotly disputed start of season.
Clement weather meant the drivers could make the most of the dry track throughout the race with the Protos getting the best of the GTs. The winners of the Val de Vienne event repeated their performance for their second sortie with the Chevron B21 barchetta, driven to victory by Hahn and Haezebrouck, this time teamed up with Frédéric Da Rocha.

In spite of competition from cars just as fast, if not faster than their Porsche 997 Cup, and in the hands of drivers much more used to the Challenge, Anne-Sophie and Michel Nourry were able to make the most of Michel's tremendous experience in endurance racing to score a win under the most difficult conditions.
On this summer Sunday morning, it suddenly started to rain during the start procedure. There was no doubt as to the choice of tyres. As usual, Langin had taken pole position in the Porsche 996 RSR shared with Moreau whereas the Renault Mégane Trophy of Rousseau/Lemée was once again on the front line but did not make the most of the start and gradually dropped down the field to get stuck there.

The start of race on a damp track quickly gave over to a gradually drier track after the first hour, obliging drivers to hone their strategies. In spite of a further win by a car from the IRS stable, the third this season and the second by the Ibanez/Cavailhes team, the Ligier JS49 from Pegasus Racing once again made it onto the podium, four times in four races, and increased its lead at the head of the Challenge.
Starting from the pole position earned by Zollinger, the Norma M20 F from the Green Team stable, running on Bio-ethanol was forced to slow down after its fuel tank's foam started to disintegrate and block its fuel supply. This threw the race open on the still damp track, although it was not raining, and the Norma M20 F of Haezebrouck went into the lead, soon to be taken by young Rosier behind the wheel of an "old generation" Norma M20, which he drove to perfection.

The battles exteded down the field but Gallia in #25 would be the last classified finisher
Maxime Martin (Boutsen Energy Racing) avoided all the pitfalls to take victory in a third consecutive race. This brings him to within a point of Michaël Rossi (TDS) in the overall standings of the Eurocup Megane Trophy. In last place at the end of the first lap, Rossi climbed to second position, the podium being completed by Sébastien Dhouailly (Team Lompech Sport).

Dhouially scored a top 10 in qualifying
After those at Spa-Francorchamps, Michaël Rossi (TDS) takes another two pole positions Eurocup Mégane Trophy. Dominant from the start of collective testing, the Frenchman left little hope for the competition as he put himself in the lead right from the word go. The youngest driver paring in the field José Luis Pampló (21) and Miquel Julià (20) driving for Escudería Roger Racing
One of the most interesting characteristics of the 2008 season of the International GT Open is the sharp drop of the average age of drivers, a trend that appeared already last year but which is even more evident in 2008, and repeals all the established clichés about GT racing. The category is not only one for old stars, gentlemen and semi-professional drivers. On the contrary, it is becoming a very attracting option for young, talented and ambitious drivers.

The Dijon event is the mid-season point for the FFSA Series races. Before the summer truce, drivers will be giving it all on one of their favourite tracks where safety has been improved over the winter. The Summer will give everyone time to prepare for the first edition of the historic and modern « EuroSpeedway 6 Hours » run on the German Lausitz track on 22, 23 and 24 August.
The « Dijon 6 Hours »
Over the years, this event has become one of the not-to-be-missed venues of the historic endurance season. There will be a highly varied field for the eighth time on this track, considered by drivers as an auto sport monument.

The « Dijon 3 Hours »
The fourth race of the season will be run in the classic 3-hour format before the GT and Tourisme events are run, for the first time, on the EuroSpeedway circuit at Lausitz in Germany for a kick-off event run over 6 hours.
Multiple VHC Championship winners, Moreau and Langin have been after the modern version title for a number of seasons and now seem to be capable of taking the Trophy. With their Porsche 996 RSR N°14, reigning Champion, they are making the running in spite of a poor performance in the last Magny-Cours event. Fortunately for them, the Ferrari F430 N°1 of the reigning champions,, Pagny and Benoist, also had a disappointing race.
