In another closely-fought and exciting race in Spa-Francorchamps, Richard Lietz and Gianluca Roda confirmed Porsche's superiority in the Ardennes, signing a double victory for Stuttgart's 997 and claiming their second win in the season and reinforcing their leadership in the overall standings. Autorlando Sport also placed its second car, driven by Manuel Gião-Pedro Couceiro, on the podium, in third.

IMSA Performance triumphantly crosses the line

Raymond Narac and Patrick Pilet (Porsche 997 RSR) took a resounding victory in today's Pro-Am race of the Spa GT Open, giving IMSA Performance Matmut its first victory in the International GT Open, which is also the first victory of a French team in the series. Porsche took also the second place, with Richard Lietz - Gianluca Roda and Autorlando team, who are now the new leaders in the provisional standings. Michele Rugolo - Giacomo Ricci (Advanced Engineering) took third and saved Ferrari's honour in a closely-fought final battle.

Twenty-eight cars took the track today in Spa-Francorchamps, in an unusually sunny and warm day, for the two free practice sessions of the Spa GT Open. Patrick Pilet, with the IMSA Porsche , recorded the fastest time (2.22.936), set in the cooler morning session.

One of the most-awaited events of the International GT Open is at our door : the third round of the 2009 season takes place in Spa-Francorchamps on 26-28 June and there is no doubt that the legendary track in the Belgian Ardennes is on top of the ranking of preferred circuits for most drivers. The Spa event will also see in action the Euro F.3 Open, the FIA F.2 and other prominent series, in the framework of the traditional Spa Euro Races meeting.

Spa: Enjalbert Makes it Two

Dimitri Enjalbert (Boutsen Energy Racing) has got his Eurocup Megane Trophy season well and truly back on track by claiming both wins in the Hungarian leg of the championship this weekend. After leading the race from start to finish, the Frenchman drove to victory ahead of Mike Verschuur (McGregor by Equipe Verschuur) and Nick Catsburg (Tech 1 Racing). There are now only five points in it between Mike Verschuur and Jonathan Hirschi (TDS Racing) in the overall standings.

Out of contention at Barcelona, absent at Spa-Francorchamps, Dimitri Enjalbert (Boutsen Energy Racing) really kicks off his season today, in Hungary, with his first win in Eurocup Megane Trophy. The French driver was head and shoulders above his rivals in today’s race. Behind him, the battle for second place went to the wire, when Mike Verschuur (McGregor by Equipe Verschuur) got the better of Jonathan Hirschi (TDS Racing) in the very last lap.
