Goughary Captures First Career Trans-Am Win At Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (July 12, 2009) – In just his third career Trans-Am start, rookie Jim Goughary Jr., of Jupiter, Fla., captured his first career Muscle Milk SCCA Trans-Am victory today at Watkins Glen International. Tomy Drissi, of Los Angeles , finished second and clinched the Trans-Am title in the process.

Donington: Two From Two for IMSA


IMSA Performance had another good weekend

The GT Open race of the Donington GT Open ended with the same winners as yesterday. Patrick Pilet-Raymond Narac confirmed with a double win the excellent form of the IMSA Performance Porsche. With this third win, the French pair now join the fight for the title, together with Fässler-Camathias (Trottet Ferrari), today 2nd, and Lietz-Roda (Autorlando Porsche), today 3rd.

The Astons would finish 2-3 in the GTS class

Raymond Narac and Patrick Pilet gave the IMSA Performance team its second win in one week, winning against all odds the Pro-Am race of the Donington GT Open. The French pair started from the last position in the grid (the team having lost all of the qualifying times for using non-marked tires) and crossed the finishing line with a 29-seconds advantage over the Autorlando Porsche of Gião-Couceiro. A brilliant third position rewarde the efforts of Giacomo Ricci-Michele Rugolo (Advanced Ferrari).

Silverstone: Four on the Trot for Enjalbert

After Jean-Éric Vergne in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Charles Pic in Formula Renault 3.5 Series, it was Dimitri Enjalbert’s turn (Boutsen Energy Racing) to make the Marseillaise ring out on the podium at Silverstone, in front of 135 000 spectators who’ve enjoyed an exciting weekend’s racing. Enjalbert takes his fourth win in a row in Eurocup Mégane Trophy. The Frenchman finishes ahead of Mike Verschuur (McGregor by Equipe Verschuur) and Giorgio Pantano (Oregon Team). Verschuur leaves Silverstone as new leader in the discipline.

Dimitri Enjalbert (Boutsen Energy Racing) picked up where he left off in Budapest in Eurocup Mégane Trophy to claim his third win of the season, leading the first race at Silverstone from start to finish. The Frenchman finishes ahead of Mike Verschuur (McGregor by Equipe Verschuur), who comes back to just one point of Jonathan Hirschi (TDS Racing) at the top of the overall standings.
