With Frenchman Frank Montagny seemingly out of the F1 circle, rumours are flying as to where he will end up.
And Internet rumour has it that he will end up in the Le Mans Series.
These same rumours suggest that he will announce his intentions on 10 January and it will be with a leading French team.
So that puts us with Peugeot, Pescarolo and Oreca/Courage.
Peugeot won't happen unless it is a Le Mans only deal - they already have four drivers that they are happy with.
But Pescarolo and Oreca could be on the cards. If Pescarolo are to run two cars again (they may, or not) they could have an extra space and Oreca have a lot of newsworthy stuff going on here.
It is a hard one to pick...
The FMSC View
Montagny has been round the block having raced in sportscar before and tested and even started F1 races. It will be great to see him in the series but really we won't be convinced of any signing until we hear it. Some big names have been thrown round the place of late (Panis, Verstappen, Wurz to name but three) and this one is good but not huge.
So we think that there could be a few explanations - 1. Something else bigger will be announced on 10 Jan, 2. They have a few contract things to sort out and 3. Nothing will happen and rumour does not become fact.
We do hope for one of the first two - afterall Montagny is quite a good driver.
