It has revealed that Australian based Dane, Allan Simonsen will be racing in four different race series in 2008.

The most exciting program Simonsen has been involved in will consist of racing for as yet an unnamed a GT1 team in the FIA GT series. Motorsport News has rumoured that this team could have factory support.

Additionally, Simonsen is due to line up in a Farnbacher Porsche partnering Lars Erik Nielsen. His GT duties will also extend to the British GT Series where he will race a Ferrari with Hector Lester and the Australian GT Series where he will race the same Ferrari that he won the title with this year.

In a season of highlights, Simonsen will be competing in the Dubai 24 Hours, 24 Hours of Spa and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In what will be the busiest season for the Dane, he will not have a weekend off until June and his participation in Australian V8 Supercar events including the Bathurst 1000 is unclear.

The FMSC View

Looks like things are coming together for the underrated Dane/Australian. After a brilliant 2007 campaign where he won the Australian GT Title, third in class at Le Mans, fifth at Bathurst, winner in the British GT, class winner in road rallies in Australia and could have been class Champion in the Le Mans Series if it weren't for date clashes, his talent is finally being recognised.

And we could not be happier. We will bring you all the news on this as it comes in but it looks good at the moment.
