RUMOUR: ALMS - 3 New Teams and a New Manfacturer on the Way??? UPDATED

Boy, the forums and newslines have been running hot of late with rumours that the ALMS could see three new cars including a new manufacturer on the grid as early as 2009.

First is first - Forsythe. We know, we have told you about that already but it is just not going away. Three things. Gerry Forsythe has a contract with Bridgestone and it is thought that Bridgestone wants in on the ALMS. Two - Paul Tracy has money but Forsythe is not letting him go. Three - after Long Beach, Forsythe will have no major racing (except for Formula Atlantic and Conquest) but for a man who has lived and breathed it for so many years, we expect him to keep going.
This is looking less likely all the time - but being Forsythe, it is not off the cards yet (04/04/08)

Second - Vasser mentioned in the latest edition of Motorsport e-News that he could be looking to field a team in 2009 and he is already ramping up his physical activity in an effort to return to the cockpit. Gil de Ferran did it, so why not Vasser - an effort from KV, possibly with Cosworth engines could be on the cards. Watch this space.
Nothing conclusive yet - but could be Grand Am instead
Last - the forums are running with a rumour started by an Italian journalist that has it that a new manufacturer will enter the ALMS soon. This manufacturer, apparently has never raced in the ALMS before. Apparently we may hear more by Friday - so again, watch this space!
And this was a load of rubbish...bah! (04/04/08)
