Stefan Johansson to Drive for Racing for Holland at Le Mans

Le Mans

The Swedish Le Mans winner, ex. Ferrari and McLaren Formula 1 driver Stefan Johansson will drive for Racing for Holland in the 74th edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Stefan Johansson: "I know Jan for a long time now and we have raced with and against each other for many times as drivers and team owners. We always seemed to have similar ideas and approaches, this is a new experience for both of us and it's nice. We both rate Alex Yoong very much as a driver so we should have a good team. Le Mans is a great event and with the 300.000 + spectators in town it makes for a great atmosphere, you can feel and smell the heritage in town.

Jan Lammers: “When you have won Le Mans once it always keeps its attraction and you want more, the same goes for Stefan. Especially the soccer theme appealed very much to him, a lot of his business relations have already reacted by buying a sponsor ‘ball’, they seem to see it as a form of art which will go into the history books as something rather unique. Both as a race enthusiast and business entrepreneur they want to participate. Sweden of course also has got a thing for soccer. While our respective national teams will be challenging the world on the grass, we will be doing the same on the asphalt”,. Together with Alex all the ingredients seem to be there, Dome, Judd, Dunlop and Xtrac all have great track record and let’s pray that this will be our lucky year”, says driver and team principal Jan Lammers.

Alex Yoong: I am really delighted to hear that Stefan will join us. As a kid I use to follow his achievement at Ferrari and McLaren and to be driving with him at Le Mans is really cool! Particularly because this is my first Le Mans it is a great opportunity to hitch a ride on so much experience!

Racing for Holland will be competing with car number 14, a famous number in Holland from our legendary soccer player Johan Cruyff. A special place around the cockpit of the Dome S101Hb has been reserved for the Johan Cruyff Foundation. We will sell it to the highest bidder and the money goes direct to the JCF.
