RSV Gears Up to Defend the Title

Spanish GT

RSV Motorsport hope for more luck in the opening Spanish GT round then what they had in the GT Open

Domingo Romero and Peter Sundberg start to defend the Spanish GT Champions title in the circuit of Jarama. The starting point for the Spanish-Swedish couple will be the brilliant performance from the last campaign in Madrid, where they ended with two clear triumphs and a pole position.

RSV Motorsport returns to the Spanish Championship after such a difficult start in the International GT Open, where we could clearly see that the competitivity between the drivers and the teams can’t stop growing. However, the meeting in Vallelunga lets us to have hope and take out good conclusions. Domingo Romero and Peter Sundberg were – both during the training sessions and during the race –the best Spanish couple, what makes evident the drivers and the team partners’ experience.

What is still to come can only be good. Regarding the rules, GT Sport still chooses the statutory continuity, the same that happened with the International GT Open. And regarding the sport, the competition system is still the same – double race one hour long each with two independent official training sessions, with both starting grids.

The same happens at the technical level with the GTA category’s cars, where we can find the Ferrari 430 GT2 from RSV. This way, the accumulation of technical data from previous editions is going to be essential, so it is very important to look at the statistics which conform Jarama as the RSV circuit par excellence.

The Andalusian team jumped to the podium in their fourth participations, and improved the statistic with tow triumphs (both gained in 2007), a second and a third position and the pole position from the last season. The free training session of the first meeting from the Spanish GT Championship is going to start on Friday. On Saturday both training sessions and the first race are going to take place.

On Sunday the programme is going to finish on Sunday at midday with the second race. Don’t lose any detail of RSV through Teledeporte channel or the live broadcasting of the race in www.gtsport.es.
