Le Mans: Creation Confirm Drivers as Campbell-Walter is Ruled Out

Creation are again bringing a first class lineup to Le Mans

British sports car team Creation-AIM’s regular driver Stuart Hall (England) will be in good company on his second career start at Le Mans 24 Hours this year. The eagerly anticipated news is that he will share the LMP1 Creation-AIM CA07 with the experienced Belgian Marc Goossens and fellow Englishman Johnny Mowlem.

Goossens and Mowlem have a combined 13 starts at La Sarthe to-date, added to Hall’s maiden Le Mans in 2007 which netted a fine 4th place.

“We are very pleased to have such a strong and experienced lineup this year” enthused Michael Jankowski, Creation Aim team director. “It was important for us to field this kind of depth of talent, especially in the wake of our number one Jamie Campbell-Walter’s (JC-W) absence. The determination within the whole team is to succeed for all our partners and of course for Jamie too, who himself assisted with the selection of Marc and Johnny”.

Clearly pleased with the announcement of his new team mates Stuart Hall commented “Their reputations stand before them. With JC-W on the sidelines I don’t think I could have two better team mates. Both are very fast and have masses of experience in sports cars, and I am looking forward to driving with them, and learning a lot from them both”.

On the subject of his ‘call up’ to the team, Belgian International ace Marc Goossens added “I have been a huge fan of Creation-AIM for years, since the FIA GT days with the Lister Storm. I have always had good contact with Mike Jankowski and since a few years now I also have a good relationship and friendship with Creation-AIM’s American liason Andy Woolgar. It was Andy who contacted me about this programme. On top of this, I am a great fan of Jamie. It was unfortunate to see what happened to him in Monza and I promised him I would do my utmost to uphold the team’s reputation for him”.

Equally pleased to be back in a leading sports car for the biggest auto race in the world, Britain Johnny Mowlem added “This will be my 6th Le Mans and I am delighted with the opportunity the Creation-AIM team have given me to compete again in what is any sports car driver’s most important race of the year. Although I am excited about the challenge ahead, I am intending to enter this race with a very cool head and steady approach. If we have a clear run, there is no conceivable reason why we won’t have a great result”.

Since 2004 Creation-AIM has been a stalwart of the Le Mans 24 Hours and the small British team has steadily built a solid reputation for pulling off surprise results at times against adversity. In doing so the team is very proud of its growing loyal fan base and boasts the support of knowledgeable race fans across the globe. As well as supporting the Le Mans Series (LMS)Championship in Europe, Creation-AIM is one of very few European teams to annually make the trip to the USA and compete with a high measure of suucess in the final 2 rounds of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS).

Making Le Mans history this year, 2 Creation CA07 chassis will start the great race, the factory entry being joined by Creation-AIM’s US clients Autocon Motorsports fielding a new CA07-Judd for the first time.

This coming weekend the 55 chosen cars will descend on the City of Le Mans (2.5 hrs South West of Paris, France) for the annual ‘Test Day’, which is a preliminary testing event to help ‘ready’ the teams and cars for the race, which takes place on 14-15 June.

The 76th annual Le Mans 24 Hours race will be shown live on over 250 million televisions across the world. Among the many, Motors TV in Europe and Speed TV in the USA will cover the entire race ‘live’. Over 200 journalists and 60 Television crews from around the world attend the event, and they are outnumbered by nearly 300.000 trackside fans, thus making Le Mans the unrivalled motor race on the planet.

Creation-AIM would like to extend thanks to our loyal Asian, European, British, North American and Canadian partners both old and new for their un-waivered support.
