The Le Mans Test Day has come and gone and typically, a number of rumours has come from it. This is what has been reported.
TV2 from Denmark has reported that Allan Simonsen will be racing in the Kruse Lola Mazda in P2. He will have to replace a driver here. Simonsen originally was to drive for Autorlando (wasn't selected) and Tafel (withdrew) - perhaps third time lucky?
Marshall Pruett from SpeedTV has reported that Jerry Forsythe had decided on a P2 entry in the ALMS - it could be a Zytek-Zytek, not a Lola Cosworth as originally speculated. This could debut at Elkhart Lake.
Pruett has also reported that the CAD design for the Acura P1 is in progress - a sure sign that Acura are still looking at their P1 program
The internet forums have been hot with who is backing the Dome entry. As its pace was good but sponsorship was lacking, some have considered that either Toyota or Honda/Acura are backing this car with a view to come on more strongly in the not-to-distant future. There is always the possibility that Dome has just built the car with the view of gaining customers later on.
The reserve drivers from Epsilon Euskadi were present at the test day and even ran the entered car. The Spanish team have their reserve car on standby should it be allowed to race. Some believe that the ACO are looking for a way to enter the car (which Jean-Marc Gounon is slated to drive), although such a move would be outside the rules at this stage.
And it is Le Mans so cue the diesel verses petrol debate and how can things be settled...mind something will have to happen as the Peugeots were lapping in the 3:22s - the ACO likes the cap at 3:30...
