Le Mans: Nicolas Lapierre Replaced by Marcel Fässler in the #6 Courage Oreca

Nicolas Lapierre, who had to skip test day due to health issues, is still not on top form according to Team Matmut Oreca’s press release of Monday June 9. His replacement driver on car #6 will be Marcel Fässler, thus teaming up with Oliver Panis and Simon Pagenaud.


The two Courage Orecas will appear this morning on the Quiconce des Jacobins for scrutineering. The Swiss, Fässler who had been named as replacement driver for team Matmut Oreca, made his Le Mans debut in 2006 driving a Courage car for Team Swiss Spirit. He is a renowned DTM driver, and took pole position for the 2006 Spa 1000km, and won the 2007 running of the Spa 24 hours with Corvette. The Swiss champion first tested the Courage Oreca during tests at Magny-Cours on May 27 this year.
