  • Just at the moment, as we run into the final 35 minutes of the race the situation regarding tyres is very confusing. Some of the leading cars are on slicks, others on intermediates, some are even rain tyres. While #3 Audi R10, driven by Luhr left the pits on rain tyres, the #7 Team Peugeot Total, Peugeot 908 HDI FAP driven by Minassian had a major spin at the Dunlop Chicane,then a couple of minutes later he went straight on at the Playstation. This seemed to prove that just at the moment slicks are still not the answer. The #1 Audi Sport North America, Audi R10 with Biela driving, went off at the Playstation Chicane having changed from wets to intermediates. Even so they are still running sixth. However Biela got it going again without losing any places.
  • #3 Audi Sport Team Joest, Audi R10 in the pits and changing from wets to intermediates. This will be their last stop.
  • Everyone except first and second overall took it easy, wanting to make the finish. The final pitstops came and went and nothing foolish happened. Of course Audi and Peugeot had to race as they were on the same lap...
