So Le Mans is over for another year but like always, the rumour mill does the rounds so, naturally this is not the whole lot of rumours but this is what we have heard...
- Members from Tata, Jaguar's new owners were seen at Le Mans. Jaguar has a rich history at the track and has no real motorsports promotion at the moment and the new owners have deep pockets to build this brand. Could this be the starting of something big?
- The Forsythe rumour is getting stronger and stronger, probably in 2008, if not expect them for 2009...add this this another Zytek coming to the States, could be P1
- It was said that Dome had more Toyota support than first thought at Le Mans. They were hard to see but they were there. It is no secret that the drivers do have Toyota links, so this could be a go-er for 2009
- Endurance Info has reported that Terramos, a Japanese team run by Yojiro Terada will be looking to run a LMP2 car next year. The car will definitely be running in the Asian Le Mans Series and could be seen in Europe for more then just Le Mans. Terada will also play a major part in the running of the Asian Le Mans Series.
- Depending on what happens with the diesel/petrol rules, Audi could be out of P1 with stablemates, Porsche coming in. This has been rumoured for a while but it is more likely to be a year or two off yet. Some suggest that Audi could go to GT1 (as GT2 is where Porsche race)
- Peugeot will be back, the press release said as much, Audi were not as forthcoming...
- The Corvette/Aston Martin battle could be over. There are some who think neither will be back next year as the head to the Prototype classes. Or it could be both, I guess time will tell...
