Dijon: Endurance GT and Touring Preview

The « Dijon 3 Hours »
The fourth race of the season will be run in the classic 3-hour format before the GT and Tourisme events are run, for the first time, on the EuroSpeedway circuit at Lausitz in Germany for a kick-off event run over 6 hours.

Multiple VHC Championship winners, Moreau and Langin have been after the modern version title for a number of seasons and now seem to be capable of taking the Trophy. With their Porsche 996 RSR N°14, reigning Champion, they are making the running in spite of a poor performance in the last Magny-Cours event. Fortunately for them, the Ferrari F430 N°1 of the reigning champions,, Pagny and Benoist, also had a disappointing race.

Things will be hot in the GTV2 category with the other Ferrari F430 N°77 of the Desbruères husband and wife team who will be pushing on towards their objectives while Bour and Ferreira will be looking to repeat their performance at Magny-Cours with the Porsche 996 RSR N° 193 as will Baudinière and Vicaire in the RS N° 48. Kelders and Greish will be pushing hard behind the wheel of their diabolically fast 997 Cup S N°15, specially tuned for endurance.

Hot on the heels of the leaders, winners of the Val de Vienne event, Rousseau and Lemée, pushing with their Renault Mégane Trophy N°80, while Nozière is solo on the third step of the provisional podium, with the Porsche 997 Cup N°50 of Champion Racing, following the absence of his faithful team-mate Brouard at the Magny-Cours event.

Particularly consistent and efficient this season, Vincenot is at the head of the GTV4 category and sixth on scratch with the Porsche 993 RSR N°64. Behind the Renault Mégane in the Silhouette category, Eric Van de Vyver is on the second provisional podium step while the other Touring Cup teams, Gasperini and Lazardeux in N°10 and Chardonnet and Charriol in N°46, are looking to confirm their excellent performances at Magny-Cours.

Variety will once again be the watchword with the return, for example, of the Ford Falcon N°62 monster of the Allemang family ready to unleash the power of its big 5 litre V8 over the long straight.

The Maserati Trofeo N° 143 of Swiss drivers Erlich and Ruch will enrich the ranks of the trident marque alongside the two cars of ASP Compétition, the GTV3 N° 83 of Demigneux, for the circumstance with the support of the very fast Ajlani, and the GTV4 N°82 of boss Ullmann, teaming up with his usual co-driver, Tremblay, currently second in the category.

The numerous Porsches will have their work cut out in this increasingly varied field with the cars prepared to an exceptional standard of quality.
