Lites: Lime Rock Preview

The IMSA Lites return to action this weekend

Lime Rock, Conn. July 7 -- Jonathan Goring, the points leader in the IMSA Lites presented by Hankook Lites One class, will try to extend his points lead when the IMSA Lites competitors take to the track for rounds five and six at Lime Rock Park July 11 and 12.

Joel Feinberg and Charlie Shears will use their IMSA Lites experience to try to beat Goring, who is from nearby Torrington, Conn., on the 1.54-mile reconfigured road course. Feinberg and Shears finished in the top five last year at Lime Rock Park.

"I was looking forward to home track advantage," Goring said. "Now that the track has changed I'm not going to have it."

West Race Cars driver Tom Drewer will be tough competition in the Lites Two class. He has won all of the 2008 races.

KC Racing teammates Chris Funk and Kelly Toombs head to Lime Rock tied for the points lead in Lites Three.

Practice at Lime Rock Park begins Friday at noon for the IMSA Lites competitors. Round five will take place Saturday at 10:45 a.m. Round six will be Saturday at 5:20 p.m.
