RUMOUR: ALMS - The Series to See Zyteks???

The continuing rumours regarding additional cars for the ALMS has again gained momentum as the ALMS returns to racing.

As reported originally on Daily Sports Car, a LMP1 Zytek has been sold and the cash has been forth coming.

Forsythe, on the other hand, has yet to pay for their Zytek and it is expected to be a LMP2 car. This deal is expected to be closed soon as the papers are just needing to be signed and some dollars to change hands.

Other names to be linked to moves to the LMP catagories in the ALMS are Corsa Motorsports and Walker.

Derrick Walker is a racer and a full time program in the ALMS would suit - but it is unclear whether he is involved in an ALMS project but his name has be bandied round.

Corsa on the other hand, is an interesting prospect. They have taken a two race sabbatical from the series to strengthen their program. Their drivers have experience in prototypes and Jeannette has recently tested a prototype.

Add to that the Eco Radical will return at the end of the year, Acura and Porsche (maybe) preparing their LMP1 cars and the expectation that Lola have sold a few cars (rumour: including a coupe to B-K Motorsports) the grid could look quite nice for 2008/2009.

All of this can only be good news for the ALMS...
