
Stuttgart. The successful partnership between the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup and the FIA Formula 1 World Championship will carry on: The world’s fastest one-make cup will continue to run as support race to the most important international motorsport racing series. The contract renewal between Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG and Allsport Management SA (Switzerland) will be signed on the occasion of the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.

Many top race drivers, who today celebrate major successes in long distance racing, earned their first motorsport accolades with the Cup-version of the 911 in the past.”

On eleven of the 18 Formula 1 weekends, the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup plays the main role in the support programme. At the seven remaining events, national pendants of the Porsche brand series take over this part. With this, a brand trophy series featuring the 420 hp 911 GT3 in its Cup-spec races before every Formula 1 round in 2008 for the first time.
