The eagerly awaited BMW ALMS seats will be hotly contested among the drivers and it seems to be a hard fought affair to be one of four drivers to pilot the ALMS BMW M3.
Feedmesportscars has learned that many drivers (we have heard anything from 8 to 40) are being considered for the four seats in the ALMS. We have also learned that Rahal Letterman Racing and BMW hope to make their decision in the next six-ish weeks.
This has a few flow-on effects. With up to 40 drivers being considered, one could assume that BMW are going to continue their WTCC program in 2009 and therefore they will not be brining any/all of their WTCC drivers to America.
It also means that BMW and Rahal Letterman have given themselves plenty of scope to pick drivers - this could mean that BMW may try to groom young drivers - afterall they have a great feeder system.
And it could see a shakeup in the ALMS driver lineup next season...
