Magny-Cours: Fassler Takes Pole

The Sarafree Ferrari scored a front row position

Marcel Fässler, fastest in free practice on Friday, kept the advantage in qualifying 1, with his Trottet Ferrari, setting the pole in 1'39"400, but his advantage over opponents reduced to 186 hundredths of a second, with Montermini (Playteam Ferrari) in second position. Andrea Belicchi (Autorlando) was an excellent third and the first Porsche, followed by five other Ferraris (among which the fifth fastest time of GPC's Frassineti was worth of note) and the Drivex Porsche of Chacón.

In GTS, the pole for today's Pro-Am race, was for the Corvette of Andrea Pellizzato (1'43"398), half a second ahead of the Lamborghinis of David Tuchbant and Andrea Ceccato. The latter car had been targeted by gearbox problems in free practice.

With the confirmed withdrawal of the Ruffier Lambo of Lafargue-Baudouin, severely damaged in an accident on Friday, there will be 30 cars taking the start this afternoon, under sunny but cool weather in the Nièvre.

The driver change window will be between minutes 24 and 36, and handicaps are the following:

#1 Lietz-Roda (Porsche Autorlando): 15"
