George escaped with minor injuries from this spectacular accident
John George will stay in hospital overnight for precautionary checks following his dramatic crash in today’s final round of the 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent.
George’s TH Motorsport/JAG Honda Integra rolled at high speed on the race’s opening lap after contact with Darren Turner’s SEAT Leon TDI sent his car into the barriers along Copper Straight.
Although the 47-year-old Cornishman was able to climb free from the badly damaged Honda – which came to rest on its side – a team spokesman confirmed that George will remain under observation overnight in hospital in nearby Maidstone.
