Challenge Endurance GT/Tourisme
Winners in Germany, Belgians Greisch and Kelders in their n°15 Porsche 997 Cup have established a slight lead on their direct rivals but no less than ten teams are in the running for a win. So the Challenge is more open than ever and new arrivals could put the cat among the pigeons with the regulars.
The fiercest rival for the leaders is still Nozière who is provisionally second at the wheel of his n°50 Porsche 997 Cup, along with Brouard who is only in sixth place after his absence at Magny-Cours. Lying third is the Stuttgart marque's eternal rival the n°1 Ferrari F430 of Pagny and Benoist waiting to pounce. The reigning Champions should finish off the season in style, now cured of their chronic oil pressure problems. Rousseau and Lemée, pole men in Germany but obliged to replace their n°80 Renault Mégane for the race would like to make up for lost ground.
Getting faster and faster, Baudinière and Vicaire will be attempting to bring their n°48 Porsche 996 RS up with the leaders on classification, just like former leaders Moreau and Langin, absent in Germany, and who are only in eighth position and whose ambitions are now greater behind the wheel of their n°14 Porsche 996 RSR refurbished after their spectacular accident at Dijon. The new Porsche 997 and 996 Cup of Dog Racing n°s 111, 112 and 113 driven by Thome and Deluc, Boueix and Dumas and Martin teamed up with Biotteau respectively, will be playing at home and have the support of the 997 Cup of Gerarduzzi, Bour ready to catch out the regulars. Kohler and Depagneux will also be back in their n°16 996 Cup as will Caspard and Sciard in the n°98 car, while Bour and Ferreira should once again be in the placings in the n°193 996 RSR.
The n°64 Porsche 993 RSR of Vincenot and Bachelier should as usual put up a tremendous performance, rivalled in this category by the n°81 Maserati GT4 from ASP Compétition, campaigned by Tremblay and Ullmann or maybe the n°27 Porsche Cayman S of Havette, whereas the leader of the Challenge Funyo, Fontbonne, will be teamed up with the young and fast Tougnaud in the n°78 Porsche 964 RS.
In the Tourisme category, the Touring Cup n°11 of Van de Vyver and Maillard will be up against the n°10 of Gasperini and Lazardeux who will be doing all they can to prevent them from notching up too many points with an eye on the category final title. The task will be made even more arduous as the Gomez brothers are entered with the Touring Cup on their home ground. The Renault Clio Cups of Terrasson, Bauer n°24 and of Bertinetti, Kret n°25 will be back to fight it out with the n°12 RS of Vaysse and Pelosi.
