
With the announcement of the new rules for ACO racing and the shenanigans in F1 at the moment, there are rumours that Renault could return to endurance racing.
Renualt who last won the event in 1978 have been eager to cut their racing costs and escape the draconian rules for 2010 F1 could join their country rivals, Peugeot along with other manufacturers rumoured to join ACO series' in coming years.
While there is little detail available on the statement on Mariantic's site, the new ACO rules for 2010 and 2011 could provide stability and cost effectiveness that Renault have missed in the past with F1.
Renault join Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Toyota, Peugeot, Acura who will or have been rumoured to compete at Le Mans in the coming years.
