
JMW Ferrari are not in the top three but have not had major issues
The notable items from hour 2...
- At 15:56, the safety car situation was lifted. Many teams had decided to pit for fuel and tyres during the safety car period.
- The #96 Virgo Motorsport Ferrari F430 gets a stop & go penalty for driving too fast in the pits (71 km/h)
- Nicolas Minassian rejoined the race at 16h13, after a 35-minutes rebuild session. After its collision in the pitlane, the works team changed the turbo, the FAP particle filter and the oil radiator and rebuilt the rear left of the car.
- Allan McNish brings the #1 Audi R15 TDI back into the pits with a damaged nose. The car gets a new front end, and rejoins the track. Mike Rockenfeller brings the #2 sister car in at the same time, and leaves first, swapping positions with McNish.
- Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer stopped at the Porsche curve. He has been pushed behind the wall by the marshals and a fuel system failure is reported.
- Whilst Stephane Ortelli was 9th, he violenty hit the wall at the Tertre Rouge corner. Losing his rear wing, he succeed in rejoining and returned to the Oreca’s pit garage. The crew change the front and rear bodywork and the rear wing in only 6 minutes, Bruno Senna then rejoining the track.
