LM24: After 3 Hours

The state of the race after 3 hours

  • The #4 Creation Autosportif car, in the hands of Vanina Ickx, slid into the gravel bed at the Porsche Curves. She manages to get the car back onto the track, and heads immediately for the pits. The car is refuelled, and gets new tyres. The radiator gets a quick clear out and Romain Iannetta gets behind the wheel.

  • The #39 KSM Lola Mazda Spider is back into its pit again. After several oil leaks on the turbo, it now seems to have a broken alternator belt
  • Challenging for first place in the GT2 in the early laps of the race, the car then had a puncture which send it down to 47th place.

At 16.54, Richard Lietz stopped at the pit lane entry unable to drive back to his garage. At 17.10, the car hadn’t restarted yet.

A fuel pump defect has been reported.

  • The KSM LM P2 driven by Matthew Marsh returns to its garage again. For the second time since the start of the race, they change the alternator belt.
  • Since 16:32, the #66 Jetalliance Aston Martin DBR9 had stopped just after the Porsche Curves. The car was suffering from a fuel pump problem, with Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer at the wheel. After discussions with his pit crew, he finally managed to bring the car back into the pits at 17:48. The car was refuelled, with Thomas Gruber taking over. It is currently 53rd overall.
