The Kolles Audi #14 will race with only 2 drivers
LM24: After 11 Hours
- The Indian driver, Narain Karthikeyan who dislocated his shoulder just before the start of the race has been passed by the Audi doctor to race but the ACO doctor has refused him permission to race.
- German driver Sascha Maassen had to bring the Navi Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder back to the pits for a nose change following a spin at Tertre Rouge. He handed the car over to former Le Mans winner Seiji Ara. The #5 car is now 3 laps behind the #31 Porsche RS Spyder in the battle for LM P2.
- At 0:41, the #80 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR was spotted running slowly. The team is the 2008 ALMS champion.
The problem was easy to diagnose : a rear puncture.
Darren Law was at the wheel at the time, and he managed to bring the car back in good time to retain 5th position in LM GT2, ahead of the #83 Ferrari which is one lap down.
- Jos Verstappen had to bring the #008 car into the pits for a 4 minute stop & go penalty. After investigation, race control decided that the car was to blame for pushing the #72 Luc Alphand Aventures Corvette C6R into the tyre wall at Tertre Rouge. At the time of the accident, Darren Turner was driving the #008 car, and Patrick Goueslard was in the #72 Corvette. The penalty is equivalent to one lap, but the Lola Aston Martin has kept its position ahead of the second Oreca #10.
