The #17 Pescarolo Peugeot was destroyed

The state of play after 14 hours

• Benoit Treluyer returned to the circuit after a change of nosecone and engine cover and then had a very bad crash at the Esses de la Chapelle. Safety car,fire and ambulance have been sent out by the Clerk of the Course.
  Benoit has been taken to the Medical Centre.


• Under the Safety car, the Italian driver pits #1, followed by all the leading cars, as is often the case in such a situation.

  The Audi crew uses an air hose to clear debris from the rear of the car.

• 04:25 – Under the Safety car “Dindo” Capello pits to fix overheating problems. The Audi crew located the problem in the turbo and fixed it. The car rejoins in 3rd place, still 4 laps in front of the #007 Lola Aston Martin driven by Stefan Mucke.
• He has been driven to the medical centre. The Clerk of the Course ,Daniel Poissenot goes to the Pescarolo garage to reassure Henri Pescarolo and all his team.
