- At 4:46, the Safety Car situation was lifted, and the 47 competitors which are left are back to racing. The Safety Car was out for 42 minutes, time for Benoît Tréluyer to be taken removed from the car and taken to the Medical Centre. He was lying 4th overall in the #17 Pescarolo Peugeot, 4 laps off the leader
- The British LM GT2 driven by Marino Franchitti rejoins at 5 AM after a long stop. Amongst parts they changed were the alternator and the battery.
This car rejoins in 42nd place, 57 laps behind the #9 Peugeot driven by Marc Gene.
- The #5 Navi Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder, second in LM P2 category and 14th overall came back into the pits with some serious damage to its front right.I was thought that it had run into the back of car #30 Lola. The nosecone and wing have been replaced. Keisuke Kunimoto was able to rejoin the track without losing its position, as the 3rd placed #33 Lola Judd is 5 laps down.
- At 5:04, Race Control decided to send out the Safety Cars, following recommendations by marshals. Several sections of the track were apparently covered in oil.
At 5:41, the Safety Car situation is finally lifted. Many cars took this opportunity to return to the pits for fuel and/or fresh tyres, or even a driver change
