With less than 2 hours to go, Goh Porsche crash out of a podium position
The situation after 23 hours
- The #87 Drayson Racing Aston Martin Vantage stopped after the second chicane. It was 33rd overall and 10th in LM GT2.
- The #13 Speedy Racing Team Sebah Lola Aston Martin was 7th overall when it came to a standstill between the Playstation and Michelin chicanes with a gearbox problem.
The team's hopes are dashed, but Andrea Belicchi finally manages to get the car running, and crawls back to the pits.
It's a shame as the team looked to be on for a good finish. The #16 Pescarolo Judd has now overtaken the Lola Aston Martin. - From Arnage corner, Darren Turner is going slowly, his LM P1 is smoking and he pits. Until that incident, he was in 13th place.
The pits report that it's a gearbox problem and the crew is replacing it.
The car rejoins at 14h22.
- Coming up to the Playstation chicane, Seiji Ara lost control of the #5 Navi Team Goh Porsche RS Spyder. There was a massive impact against the safety barrier, and the car was literally torn to pieces. Although in a state of shock, Ara manages to get out of the car on his own. The Safety Car is called out in order for the the marshals to get rid of the oil and debris on the track.
- With just an hour and a half to go, the Speedy Racing Team Sebah car is undergoing a gearbox replacement. The car currently lies 10th overall.
- The works team have announced the retirement the #64 Corvette of Beretta/Gavin/Fassler. Now there are only two LM GT1s left. The leading one is still the #63 (the other works car) and the second and last is the #73 Alphand other Corvette, with a gap of 8 laps.
