A News Update on Le Mans and the Le Mans Series

Spyker Cars has seen some changes that should not affect their racing team

Today we have a new addition to the 2010 Le Mans Series field, changes in TV for the ACO, and more!

  • RLR Motorsport have announced that they will campaign a Lola AER in the LMP2 class of the Le Mans Series in 2010. They will also run on Dunlop tyres but drivers have not been announced yet. The team competed in Speed, VdeV, Masters and Classic Endurance in 2009

  • The ACO has taken the promotion and TV rights in house from 2010. Previously handled by IMG Media, a restructure of their marketing areas has seen this change. It also could have been the falling standards of the annual film production over the past few years. They are also looking at how to make the Le Mans Series itself more popular

  • Spyker has announced that they will shift their vehicle assembly lines to the UK. This will be the first time this will have occurred outside of the Netherlands since the company's reformation. This relocation should not affect Spyker Squadron which will still operate out of Zeewolde

  • And one wild rumour to end with. Seemingly out of favour F1 driver, Kimi Raikknoen has been said to be looking for a drive at Le Mans next year. Word also has it that this will be along side a rally drive. Who he will drive for is unknown but you could expect it to be in a P1 car
