- The SCCA Trans Am Series has announced a five round schedule for 2010. 2010 will mark the second year of the reformed Series. The calendar is as follows
May 8 - 9 New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville, N.J.
May 21 - 23 Mosport International Raceway, Bowmanville, Ont. (Canada)
July 2 - 3 Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Conn.
Sept. 4 - 5 Brainerd International Raceway, Brainerd, Minn.
Sept. 11 - 12 VIRginia International Raceway, Alton, Va. - As reported on MidWeek Motorsport, Team Falken Tire will run a full season in the 2010 ALMS Championship. The team have purchased a new Porsche GT3 RSR for the campaign. Brian Sellers and co-driver Dominic Cicero will again drive for the team. 2009 was where the team tested to see where they are and this is the next step in their long term program to not only become competitive, but to become a tire of choice for teams and all road users
- Aston Martin Racing's Jan Charouz was recognised by the FIA and given the FIA Talent of the Year Award from the hand of FIA president Jean Todt. Charouz was the Le Mans Series Champion for 2009. In winning the award, Charouz said:
"I really make the most of this award. This year I completed the university, nevertheless I did my best to keep getting better on the racing tracks. Results of Le Mans Series and this award signalize, that it was not redundant effort. I am really happy, that FIA decided to give this award right to me."
- The Australian Porsche GT3 Challenge's final round takes place this weekend at Sandown Park in Melbourne. The title has come down to a fight between Matt Kingsley and Sven Buchartz who are just a handful of points apart. When asked what they thought it would take to win the replied:
"Cheater engine, skullduggery and pull spark leads off Sven's car. Joking of course. At least about the cheater engine..." (Kingsley)
"Time, talent and persistence." (Buchartz)
