News on Highcroft, Wurz and Callaway!
- Two time Le Mans Champ, Alex Wurz has stated to speedweek.ch that he is intending to come back to Le Mans rather than try to get another F1 drive.
In a internet translated statement Wurz said - "I want to be sports-car driver, I love this race and will stay for several years"
- It has been confirmed that Acura will not be appearing on the Highcroft LMP entry in the ALMS next year. Rather, the car will be branded HPD - Honda Performance Division.
Highcroft owner, Duncan Dayton has also confirmed that his team will not be cutting resources in 2010 but in speaking to SpeedTV said - "in fact, we’ll be adding more resources that should help us push the development of the ARX-01c."
Dayton also hopes to announce the new driver, replacing Scott Sharp in December.
- Callaway have said that much interest has been shown in their Corvette based Z06.R GT3.
"We have a big interest from a number of teams for next year", Callaway-team head Ernst Wohr revealed. "Our Corvette is not only quick and extremely reliable, but offers also one of the best price-performance ratios of all current GT3 sports-cars."
So with luck, we will see more of the American machines on grids around the world in 2010.
